T.V. on the blink after thunder storm

I need a heads up. Last night we had thunder and lightening. Today my main t.v. does not have a picture or sound on any of the cable stations. Our other t.v.’s are fine on cable. I can play dvd discs or vcr tapes but the t.v. stations do not come in on this set. Before I call a tech or trash it do you have any suggestions. By the way, I did go through the trouble shooting guide. This is a “99 Toshiba 32 inch screen. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks! JJ

Do you have standard cable from the wall, or a cable box? If it’s a cable box… that might be your culprit. My parent’s seem to lose their DirecTV box every few years due to lightning.

Ill bet it is the box.Call up the cable co. and they might be able to reboot it for ya.

I certainly wouldn’t throw it. If anything the tuner went out in it but luckily all you would need to do is find a cable box or external tuner and plug in in the A/V jacks that obviously still work.
