Fished the Little Sioux River this weekend in my typical early spots. This spot is killer when there is high water like we have at this point. The only problem is that high water in the past has changed this area so much that I don’t know if the fish are still using it like they once were. I used to be able to go down there and get my 5 walleyes in 30 minutes right before dark. Now I am lucky to catch 1. Maybe the situation isn’t quite right yet, who knows.
Anyway, I went this weekend and on Friday got a nice 21 and a 17. Plus we threw back a 14 and lost another 20 ish at the bank. We were pitching jigs tipped with a secret bait and also using lindy rigs for a set line. Saturday I went again and only caught a few carp and 1 nice walleye. She was a nice post-spawn female that is estimated to be in the 4 lb range and 24-25 inches. I released her quickly and got pictures for the future.
Well I figured out how to post pics. But, I still don’t know how to resize them.
