Taking two of three from the Cubs in Wrigley was pretty sweet, I think the the shot Weeks gave your catcher yesterday was an example of how this season is going to be in the National League Central- Tough hard nosed baseball. The Brewers have the talent and are a year older and wiser, it was a good learning expierience last year, may the best team (Brewers) win! Hey whats another year when you haven’t won anything in 100 years?

Weeks is a real man–looked and saw the ball was not going to beat him and lowered his shoulder anyway—what a stud!

If I was HBP twice the day before I would be looking for someone to hit as well!

Don’t you think it would have been easier for the catcher to tell which was arriving sooner? If the runner was going to get there first he should have got the heck out of the way or suffer the consequences. In my opinion the runner has no option if the catcher holds his ground.

Good series. It was great to see the Crew pull two out at Wrigley. If any of you Brewer fans have a Cub fan you like to make friendly wagers with I have a .xls my brother and I put together to make the season a little more interesting. PM me if you want a copy. GO BREWERS!

luckily 2 games dont make a season… Go Cubs…. you know a team doesnt have many good hitters when they bat the pitcher 8th every day…

If the catcher is dumb enough to stand in the base path after the Japanese guy is dumb enough to throw the ball then yes a player should blow up the catcher every time, also that cost the Cubs not one run but two because of the play Weeks made- Gwynn Jr also scored. I am guessing that if that was a Cubby making that play and scoring your team two runs you would be all for it….

Some of the reasoning behind putting the pitcher 8th instead of ninth has to do with the amount of times the 8 hole ends up ending the inning over the course of the season, a position player hitting ninth sets up the top of the order more consistently, Larussa started this last year and Yost has decided to try it… but I assure you it has absolutely nothing to do with the sluggers the Brewers have, inlcuding rookie of the year Braun and MVP canidate Fielder, the youngest player to hit 50 home runs…..

3 games down, 159 left to go. In the meantime, all I have to say is shown below. I had a hard time finding any similar pics featuring the Brew Crew.

    That sign should read:

    Wrigley Field

    Home of the Chicago Cubs

    Last World Series Championship-1776

Once a loser, always a loser.

say. Belgianbucktail… didnt the brewers loose once? man.. with that argument.. EVERYONE is a looser!.. one big happy family of em….
Ive never said the cubs are “winners”.. I got cubs fever long ago.. its like a disease.. there is no cure.. reason doesnt work… loosing doesnt work.. nothing works… Im a cubs fan till it kills me… lol but they say whatever dont kill ya makes you stronger… so Im guessing true cubs fans must be pretty strong by now…. that being said it seems there are lots of new cubs fans that are not used to the history of the cubs.. lucky for them that history doesnt really predict future… if it did theres a lot of teams that would still be hopeless.. like the Red Sox… but it does seem that money talks.. and the cubs have been talking that language for the last few years… Im guessing they will compete pretty well… will they win? well.. Im a true cubs fan.. it dont matter… Ill be there either way….. but I dont mind tossing jabs back and forth with other fans.. as a cubs fan Im like Rocky… pretty much like a tank… I can block every punch with my face and just keep swinging.. the jabs seems to hurt other fans more… lol

I’ve been a Cubs fan for as long as I can remember, and there’s one thing I know. Life in the post-season is all that matters.

I’m actually headed back to Chicago this weekend. I’m hoping to swing by Wrigley and show the kids what a real ballpark is.

    Go Cubs!!

I don’t know if any of my fellow cub fans caught this, but WGN ran a 2-hour special last weekend on the 60-year relationship between the cubs and the station. It was FANTASTIC. Tons of great interviews with past and present cubs, celebs, team officials and staff, Chicago notables, and an incredible amount of fantastic footage of the team and especially the park.

My wife and I watched the whole thing. She grew up just a couple blocks from Wrigley on Addison Street. I sure miss going to Wrigley and watching the Cubs.

I checked ticket prices the other day…..they aren’t what they used to be…

It’s looking like it is going to be a good year for baseball in the NL Central. Hopefully both the Cubbies and Brewers can stay healthy and injuries don’t derail either team.

The best seats I ever had were in the early 90’s. I walked up to the window and asked for 2 of the best they had. I don’t recall what I paid for them(it wasn’t $80 for the pair) I had 4 rows up from where Sammy and the gang came out of their dugout. For those tix now, according to the official website, they’re going for $300 per. I’ve sat in just about every section of that ball park. The best seats were the ones I just mentioned along with the bleacher sections(I miss the left field/right field chants) and the seats I had behind the cameramen. That day was a hoot!

Ohh…..the fond memories I have of Wrigley Field.

There’s alternate places to buy tix, but they won’t go cheaply.

Yesterday’s 7-6 win….# 10,000 for the Cubs. They join the Giants as the only teams with 10,000 wins.

    Today = 10,001.

I’m just looking for that one win that’ll declare them the 2008 World Champions.

If that happens, I may drive down there just to tip a few at The Cubby Bear.
