1-1 AT THE END OF 1. Pretty good period I thought. Good fight at the end!……Burnsie always comes up laughing or at the least smiling! Gotta love a guy that gets into it!

As much as this team has frustrated me this year at times, I have always thought they are poised to make a run. This game tonight had a lot of positives. Bring on the playoffs….bittersweet. I need a boat with satellite TV.

I was sitting right behind the net. It was clearly a GOAL!!! The place went NUTS when they waved it off.
The boys looked great tonight. The place erupted when they put “Northwest Division Champions” up on the lights…Got chills!

That is all you will see when the Avs are rolling out of town with a series victory. The wild wouldn’t have even won the division if the Avs hadn’t been without our top scorers for over a third of the season. We lost Sakic for over thirty games, Stastny for over twenty, Svatos for the season, Smyth for twenty some. Not to mention we just got Forsberg back who is averaging over a point in each game he has been able to play.
By the way, when are the fans of the Wild going to request that they team actually start playing hockey rather than the, “our talent isn’t good enough overall to play straight up, so we will just make it as boring as possible, I mean the trap? Seriously, don’t you guys get sick of watching that boring style of hockey all year long? If I weren’t an Avs fan I would be a Wild fan due to how close I am to the Twin Cities, but I just don’t know if I could follow a team all season that relies so strongly on the trap.

    No.
The Wild are the greatest team and the greatest fan supported team in the NHL. Period.

Even if they loose to any team, I will always be a die hard Wild fan, I’m sure there about 18,000+ other fans that would agree with me!

Rely on the trap? Well Lemaire just celebrated his 500th win last night.

Love them or hate them…they have done a great job of aquiring talent and bringing it to the forefront. Hey, they are Division Champs.

way to have yourself covered incase the avs loose the series because it was obviously due to injuries? Every team gets them and it is a matter of surviving them is all I believe….the Wild had a few as well sir this season but whatever floats your boat man

You misread my post. If we lose in the playoffs it is our own fault. I was saying that we would have had a better regular season record without the extreme amount of injuries. In regards to Lamaire’s 500 wins. I don’t deny for a second that the trap is an effective way to shut down a team’s offense. I am simply saying that is easily one of the most boring things to watch in sports. You can’t tell me that you watch the Gophers play an exciting syle of hockey and then don’t get bored out of your mind going to a Wild game where they go up by one goal and then drop into the neutral zone trap the rest of the game. I would think hockey purists in MN would want to see the game played more like it was meant to be played. How Gaborik doesn’t go insane playing in that scheme is beyond me. He would probably have 75 goals on any other team. I couldn’t be happier that the Wild came to MN, but put out a product that is more entertaining to watch.

    Honestly,
If the Avs can’t win it each year, the Wild are my second team I would want to win it. I just don’t see them ever making it all the way through the playoffs with their current system.

Not trying to start anything here, but the whole injuiry thing is just another excuse. EVERY team in the NHL has injuries. The good teams overcome those set backs and move ahead. You might not remember but the Wild had a lot of injuries early in the season, Gaborik, Koivu, and Demitra. But we still managed to win the division.

Anyone who brings up the trap is a tool. News flash, nearly all teams employ the trap or a version of it. The Avs managed only 8 more goals and virtually the same GAA as the Wild. You might want to check Quinville’s chalk board before the game before you break any windows in your glass house.

Theodore is one of the most inconsistant goalies in the league.

And no, I don’t find it boring watching Gabby skate his but off in both ends. In fact, it’s pretty exciting to see him make a great back checking play, skate the length of the ice and score.

Good luck to your new 1990 Avalanche. And no, you can’t have Skoula and Simon back to complete your return to the 90s nostalgia tour. However I heard that Ewe Krupp is available.
