I want to say a huge thank you to Mark Strickland and Marine Specialties in Red Wing for the exceptional service I received.
I torched the lower unit on my boat and brought it in to Mark to get fixed….actually I had my wife drop it of while I was at work. Shortly after I got home the very same evening I got a call from Mark. He had already torn down the motor and taken a look at it. It is worth mentioning that he called me at 6:30 in the evening. He stayed late to work on my motor. He informed me that I tore the unit up pretty bad and he would give me a full diagnosis the next day. The next day he called me to tell me that the total cost of the parts would be more than a replacement unit and wanted to know if he should place the order for the replacement. He crunched the numbers to ensure I got the very best deal possible. I gave him the go ahead to order a replacement and the the next day my part was at his shop waiting for me. As if all this wasn’t enough he interrupted a fishing trip on a weekend to open his shop so I could get my lower unit.
Mark went well out of his way to make this experience as painless as possible for me. He kept me informed with his prgress with many calls. He took time away from his family working on my boat in the evening. He took time to help me out on his day off. This kind of service is hard to come by these days and I appreciate it greatly.
Thanks Mark. I am a customer of Marine Specialties from this day on.
