Being a die-hard Gopher Hockey fan it tore me up to watch Tom Pohl laying on the ice last night. I just heard on KFAN that he was air-lifted to Rochester this morning for surgery related to blood on the brain. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom, his family, friends and all that know him well…Here’s to a safe and fast recovery!

I agree. This team fought through diversity this year to have something like this happen. They made it to the Final 5 and their minds will be on Tom all week. I hope everything is OK. My prayers go out to Tom and his family.

Prayers sent. Anytime a player lays on the ground/ice for that long without moving, it sends chills through my body. Scary how things can change so fast.

a lady I work with is his aunt. She said he is doing better from what she had heard as of this morning.
It sounded like it was touch and go last night for a while. Glad to see he is doing fine right now…

Prayers sent to TP & family!

What a series. I watched all 3 games. I did not watch them much this year and you could tell the overall talent was a little lower then past years, but the heart, drive, and never quit attitude was definitely there. Some awesome goaltending made it very exciting and I was on the edge of my set from period 3 to the final goal.

    C’mon Gophs!

WOW! I hadn’t heard of that. I was too busy at work to read the paper. I’ll have to call the old man. HE was at the game Sunday. Has season tickets for MSU Mankato.

That was a terrible hit. I hope he gets through it all ok.

By the way, that might have been the best series of hockey I have ever seen. Clutch defensive plays all over the ice.

I sure feel sorry for the Pohl family. I have met Johnny a few times and have one of his game used NHL hockey stick, but the whole family are a class act. sorry to see this injury happen to Tom.

on a side note, have you guys read any of the blogs or comments about the article in the star trib? there is a bunch of ninnies that are there squacking about the game, being sore losers and what ever else you can think of, instead of adding something constructive and well wishes.

thanks for keeping us updated on his condition.
