This is why I love Cabelas. On Friday I, my Husband, and our 6 month old baby, went to Cabelas to update our Lowrance depth finders. We had two to get updated, well, they only got the message to do one so somewhere along the road the ball was dropped. Simple mistake. Well I talked to the manager “Todd” and he said he would make sure the other one would get updated also. He said that if he couldn’t get it done that night that he would mail it out and pay for it himself to have it shipped to us. I thought that was so great. What customer service they have, that is truly above and beyond customer service. That was my wonderful story of Cabelas. And that is why I love to shop there.

Good to know they are getting it taken care of

But you do know you can do this in your own home in 5 minutes and with a card reader and a SD card.

Sounds like Todd deserves a raise. That type of customer service is rare indeed.

I didn’t know that. What’s an SD card? I’m still learning.

That is exactly the type of customer service that Cabela’s expects it’s employees to provide. E-mail the Corporate offices and let them know that Todd is doing his job. The boss always likes to hear his people are doing their store proud. To find how to contact them go to their web site and look under contact us.

Good post Bearhunter. We often hear the bad news about customer service. It’s good to hear the other side too. I always stop at the Owatonna Cabelas on my way to the cities and points north. I don’t think I’ve ever had bad service there.

Something like this http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=6457481 which has a sd card and a card reader, SD cards are just memory cards, used for all sorts of things like camera’s and such. Once you have a SD card and a card reader attached to your computer, go to lowrance’s website http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/ click on you model/s and follow the instructions on how to load the update on the card, if you can post here on IDO, you can do this. Seems a little overwhelming at first but it’s easy

The Owatonna Cabela’s has nice employees, but the worst check-out area I’ve ever seen. Why are the desks round???
