Where did that little store move to? I used to get all my boots there and save a lot of money because there was a little something wrong with them.

They closed the outlet store in La Crosse last year.

A majority of the boots aren’t made like they used to make them and the reject factor is down and it wasn’t cost effective to ship “rejects” to a store in the midwest.

As for La Crosse boots having any ties to the city of La Crosse, well….the name is about it.

I believe they moved everything to Oregon where Danner Boots is located.

If you find yourself in Oregon, look out there for the Outlet Store.

To me…better than made over seas like they first planned, or are they

I also miss the La Crosse store

And Blue is right….they are not the boot they use to be

I can’t say for certain at the moment, but I believe some of their product is made overseas.

The molded “plastic” boots have nowhere near the comfort that the old rubber bottomed boots used to.

The Danner boots are still cream of the crop.

Thanks Blue. We drove around today looking for it. That means I have to pay full price for Alphas now. That sucks.

Danner bought out Lacrosse footwear. There headquarters is in Oregon and most of the boots are made in China and then shipped over here. The Lacrosse facility is just a wharehousing operation now. 15-21 Fulltime employees left out of a peak of 900. I questioned if Danner made any boots/shoes in the US and was told they have a facility in the south somewhere.

I’m almost positive it was the other way around. At least that’s how it was explained to us when I worked for them.

At any rate, their gone and I’m sad.
