Where do you guys like to get your loans for boats? Local banks? Online places?

I’ve seen some interesting offers online, but a lot of those places will finance vehicles, but not boats.

Real curious to see your answers, guys. Thanks

Home line equity so it is tax deductible. Should be able to get something around 5.5% from a credit union or 7% from a local bank. Net end of year after tax will be around 4% and 5%. My best advice is to keep the boat right side up so unless your putting a “boat load” of cash down do not finance over 10 years like a lot of people. Do 5 years and then at least at the end of the day if/when you sell/upgrade you’ll have equity. Good luck ! Mike

I just did a boat loan on Friday. My credit union had a deal going for 5.29% for 5 years on anything with wheels (auto, camper, atv, boats etc…). Maybe there’s a better rate out there somewhere, but 5.29% was good enough that I didn’t spend the time looking. I know most private banks around here are doing about 8.5%.

Keep an eye out and you will see good rates advertised at your credit union or bank. I agree on 5 year loans. It’s awful nice to not have to worry about a boat payment in a few years.

I would love to visit with him about that. The only thing I was thinking, though, was that he was limited to his immediate region, correct? For some reason, I thought I read something about him not being able to do a deal for us down here in NE. I’ll have to check with him and see if that’s the case.

I am sorry to say that I can’t be of much help unless you live, work, or Worship in the 7 county metro area

    Your not serious are you

If so, I would be looking at other options really fast

While we are on this subject. What seems to be the norm when it comes to length of the loan for boats? It seems like for a used boat I’m seeing 5 years as the most common?
