On the North end of Cut Foot Sioux (connected to big Winni…) is a wonderful campground called East Seelye Bay Campground (includes a boat launch…). This is a nice option because if it is windy you can fish Cut Foot and if the winds die down you can head out to the big lake and HAMMER the eyes’ on the North end sand of Winni! Don’t know if they have any openings. Located in the Chippewa National Forest this is Northern Minnesota at its finest!!! RR
My personal favorite is Itaska State Park. Take the kids (if you have any) to the start of the mississippi river or out on the lake pulled a couple of 21 inchers out of there last year
good luck hope you find a place to go
