Global Cooling?

I love this topic!!!
No one can dispute that the Earth’s temperature has been rising over the last 20 years. Polar ice is significantly less than it was 20 years ago. BUT no one has ever convinced me that we are the driving force. I don’t believe that our CO2 emissions can affect the world as much as they have been saying it does.
I think that almost every scientist would agree, that if you look hard enough you will find the answer you were looking for. And have proof to back it up. Same as telling yourself a lie over and over until you actually believe its true.
When many of the world’s governments are putting up enourmous amounts of money to study Global Warming , it isn’t tough to find starving and fame driven scientists that will tell us what we all want to hear.
February 9, 2008 at 2:43 am #653449Correct me if I’m wrong because I am a little young to know much about this, but I think I remember hearing that back in the 70’s there was large number of scientists that believed that we were on the cusp of the next ice age. 25 years later we’ve really made a rebound .
February 9, 2008 at 2:44 am #653450lets also remember that politicians have been known to push causes that promote themselves.not that anyone who recently ran for pres would do such a thinbg

I agree! I wonder what kind of rebuttal the global warming fanatics will have.

February 9, 2008 at 3:51 am #653468Sorry to doubt such a prestigious scientific journal as the Investors Business Daily. I prefer reading lowly things like NOAA’s web page
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/fsd/astro/sunspots.php
and
Seems to me too that it was reported the magnetic flip already occurred. Seeing as they predicted it for March that article seems to stretch some things.

Then again, maybe the earth is flat too. I’m surprised no one’s brought up solar dimming thats being studied.

Point taken. Before posting any food for thought I will run it by Steven Hawking and Warren.
February 9, 2008 at 10:51 pm #653047Now thats funny. I take it your trying to slam Stephen Hawking.
As for myself, I don’t blindly accept corporate or Air America telecasting to try and make my self feel better by saying mankind doesn’t have this kind of power. There already are places on this planet that have suffered significant man made climate modifications long before today.
And if that was food for thought, the funnies must be the great papers.

I’m just curious, is it because of who published it that you think the scientist aren’t credible?
