First, I need to say that this story happened this past weekend and I believe it is absolutely true. The person this happened to is always very truthful.
A couple fished on Lake Zumbro a good share of this past weekend. They had a slow bite, but ended up keeping 15 decent crappies. Most of the fish were caught after dark on plain minnows. They had lots of lookers, but only a small percentage of biters.
When they quit fishing Sunday, they still had all 15 fish to clean. At home as he was filleting the fish, she was washing the fillets and putting the carcasses in a bag to dispose of. As she was picking up one of the carcasses, she noticed something odd shaped in the guts. It was perfectly round and they thought it may have been a coin. Upon further inspection, it was a diamond ring! Yes, a diamond ring inside the stomach of a crappie!!!
How’s that for a catch?! I think that I will be looking at stomach contents with more interest from now on…….
