The big question is How big was that last fish? Wow. Those where some walleyes. That last one looked to be a little more than just one walleye.

    Great Show Steve and James
I bought the blade baits from B Fish N Tackle Co. last year and I am still trying to master them. O by the way here in Wis you are now competing with CBS Sunday morning.

We didn’t weigh it and with how fast we were losing light to film we didn’t even put it on a measuring board. If I was to ballpark it that fish was 28″ – 30″ long and would have been 12Lbs+, easily. It was one of the fatter walleyes I’ve ever seen and we do bump into some incredibly fat fish in the spring.

After that big girl was released we didn’t even fish. Steve and I were so excited to get one of those river giants on camera we just sat in the boat seats talking and watched the sun disappear.

    Bring on APRIL!

Just goes to show the quality of fish that can be caught on B-Fish-N Tackle products.

    Thanks, Bill

Hey, I recognize those fishing spots. Nice fish guys! I’ve been using chubby darters much the same way James was using blade baits. In the past I would see guys using the old stand by method with blades which is a sudden rip up – flutter back. You will snag a few fish that way, but I definitely prefer something that stays close to the bottom and more subtle. The lure will impart all the action you need as it sweeps along the bottom.

    Another great show James!!!

And I would have to say also……I would be sitting in the boat after catching that huge fish at the end!!! What a special way to end the show!!

yet another great show guys I’m ready for the water to open up now that I’ve watched this.
On a side note i got the wife to watch with me this morning. She said this is hands down the best outdoor show I watch. She also had a few comments I though I would pass along.

#1) Awe that poor guy in Blue. He doesn’t catch alot, and isn’t this his show? Poor James

#2 James is reeling in the Beast of a fish at the end and says “Because we are anchored we’re kinda stuck.”
To which my wife looks at me and says. “Well that was very John Madden of him.”

    Another Great show!!!

The best part of this show was we had a number of other big fish that just didn’t make the episode. We wanted to get in as much of the instruction as possible… and I knew I had that monster at the end…

Hopefully one of these years we’ll have enough money to show an expanded show version here on the web that allows us to show all that extra stuff that just can’t be crammed into a 30 minute show. Both Steve and I each had 2 – 3 fish over 5 lbs that could have easily made the cut if we had more time.

Tell your wife I’ll do my best to steer clear of any further Madden-esque statements. If I ever throw out “de-cleater” or anything like that I hope DeeZee just pushes me out of the boat on the spot. In my defense… I was a little excited.

I think as long as you don’t refer to the fish as the Bret Favres of Walleye you should be fine. I think I would have been a little excited to.

Without a doubt that day could not have ended in a better way! We both sat down and took a deep breath and let out a excited and relieved sigh……
Like I mentioned before in aother post, to catch a nice fish like this is fantastic, but to get it on camera is even better!
