I DO A LOT OF BASS FISHING AND LIKE TO THROW A LOT OF PLASTICS AND JIGS. I ALWAYS USE A RATTLE WITH THESE BAITS. I FISH STAINED WATERS OF SOUTHERN MINNESOTA, AS WELL AS THE CLEAR WATER IN THE BRAINERD LAKES AREA. I HAVE EXPERIMENTED USING BAITS WITH OR WITHOUT A RATTLE FOR BASS AND ALWAYS SEEM TO CATCH MORE ON THE NOISE. HAS ANYONE HAD EXPERIENCE WHERE A RATTLE HAD NEGATIVE AFFECTS ON BASS?

Personnaly I don’t think it ever hurts to have a rattle. I always use them on my jigs when I start out for the day, but if I lose them I don’t make it a point to replace them right away. For some its simply a confidence issue. I think the most important is getting the right bait in the strike zone. Fishing isn’t that tough. Too many people are trying to outsmart a fish with a brain the size of a pea.
