The Vikes are my team but I got one too.
What do the Vikes and Billy Graham have in common?
They can both make 60,000 people jump to their feet and say Jesus Christ.

January 9, 2004 at 5:07 pm #287985As long as we are burning on them, here is one I saw for all the Packer fans.
The Last Week of Football
‘Twas the last week of football, and all through the game, The Packers were winning, the Broncos were lame. The Vikings were playing the Cards without care, In hopes that the post-season soon would be there. The NFC North they had all but wrapped up, An eleven point lead should have been quite enough. I still watched the Packers, but to my dismay, What a shame that another game they would not play. At the two-minute warning there arose such a chatter, I quickly switched channels to see what was the matter. From CBS to Fox, I used the remote, And saw that game end on this wonderful note: The Cards had just scored with two minutes to go, It seemed that the lead, the Vikings might blow. Then what to my wondering eyes might appear, But a recovered on-side kick, one more thing to cheer. The seconds ticked by as I started to wheeze, The Vikings’ defense looked a lot like Swiss cheese. And then on the very last play of the game, Came a miracle touchdown, Lambeau Field was on flame! You see, our own fans had now heard of that score, As the shock did wear off, they started to roar. It began to sink in as to what this did mean, The Vikings had lost, eighteen – seventeen. The coach who had blown a six-and-oh start, Was whining and wailing and eating his chart. When it became clear that he’d brought on more shame, His thoughts turned to whom could he possibly blame? Was it Culpepper, Kleinsasser, Hovan, or Moss? Or was it McCombs, the team’s arrogant boss? He looked at his list, and was checking it twice, But the obvious choice was himself, Mike Tice. So the Packers did clinch the NFC North, And into the playoffs they would venture forth. And Packer fans cheer with this holiday cry, Happy New Year to all, but to the Vikings Good-Bye!January 9, 2004 at 6:42 pm #288006I’m a viking fan, but my buddy sent me this and I actually was able to see a little bit of humor in it:
January 10, 2004 at 2:38 am #288068Mike Tice’s House was Egged > > > >
Minneapolis, MN (AP) > > > >
Minneapolis police reported that some individual attempted to “egg” Mike Tice’s house last night. An empty egg carton was recovered at the scene. Two eggs hit Mr. Tice’s house, 3 eggs went over his house and hit his neighbor’s back door, 2 eggs hit the houses of each of his next door neighbors, and the remaining 3 eggs were found broken on the ground near the carton from where the individual threw them. Looking at what was hit, police officials say they are considering Daunte Culpepper as the primary suspect.
I thought the Viking move to Tx or someplace…I don’t follow this thread, so I hope this isn’t a re post….I’ll go back to the “beer” thread now….
January 10, 2004 at 12:33 pm #288099It’s really hard….to be on the cutting edge of everything…
Would this be the wrong forum to post…
“Go Vikings…and take the Twins with ya”?

Yes.
January 12, 2004 at 10:25 am #288239Time to offer up some Packer jokes boys! Brett looked surprised in the first quarter when they lead 14-0. I told my 12 yr. old………….”you watch, they’ll lose. He doesn’t look confident and if the pressure’s on, he’ll toss the game decider to the defense………..if it comes down to that.”
…………….Oh yeah, too scared to go for 4th and 1………….and tosses a pumpkin in sudden death OT, against a fired up offense that had just finished taking it to ’em during the last 2 minutes of regulation play!
Guys……………watching us lose it to the Cards was tough………..but the Pack OWNED that first quarter, the game, and gave it ALL back!
Even if Brett plays next year, it’ll be the beginning of a long drought in Green Bay…………..
Ohhhh…………can’t let the Chiefs slide by either. They played a great game…………..the way Manning was running that field………..I don’t know if ANYONE could have stopped the Colts…………but all game long I kept hearing about being 4-3 in the last 7 games………practically backing into the playoffs. Sounds pretty similar to some ribbings I’ve heard before…………..not sure where though…….
Predictions for next week? I think the Pats will make it……..but between Carolina and Indy…………..I dunno.
January 12, 2004 at 1:40 pm #288253YIKES!! My beloved Chiefs took a beating! If you win 13 games in one season using mainly Holmes, Gonzalez, and Hall, and you lose 3 games in that same season using Blaylock, Kennison, and Morton, then why in the world would you go with the latter in a playoff game? One word: dumb! It doesn’t help that our defense has the enthusiasm of Randy Moss, only playing when they decide they want to. So, that’s our season. Hopefully Greg Robinson, the defensive coordinator, is looking for a new job soon, along with a few members of the defense, because to sum it up, THEY SUCK!!

September 14, 2004 at 2:20 pm #320982They looked pretty good. Here’s hoping we don’t get anymore freak injuries!
September 14, 2004 at 3:25 pm #320997Woohoo, more vikings/cheesehead banter. I can’t wait til Xmas eve, you’re going down boys!!! Both offenses looked very good in week 1, our defense on the other hand was quite suspect.
September 14, 2004 at 4:28 pm #321006I thought this thread was sold to a car dealership?
GOOOO Vikings! (and take the golfers with you)
September 14, 2004 at 5:13 pm #321021Man-O-Man BrianK,
You just can’t get golfing off your mind!! I’m heading over to Roberts for a round of golf after work today, should I swing by and pick you up?Back to the Vikings…I thought the team looked pretty good. I know we have some secondary issues, (still) but the defensive line should improve weekly, which will help our secondary. I like our chances in Philly, Monday night game, Randy Moss in national spotlight….Moss 3 TD receptions 150 yards, Culpepper 5 TD passes, Final Vikes 38 Philly 17
Sandbar
Go Vikes!!!
