I am sick of this team winning every game. Then the announcers talk them up like they will never get beat. Did they not watch their last two games. They almost got beat two weeks in a row by teams that should not even give them a game. Then the patriots get lucky at the end twice, just burns me up. Question I have is that last touchdown they got where the guy apparently did not have possesion of the ball. With Bilichecks whole deal at the beginning of the season, anyone think that he pays a little extra cash to the ref’s??? Just wondering what people think of this team and the coach. Cant wait till the defeated Dolphins beat the undefeated Patriots That would be cool if it could happen

I gave up on the NFL long ago. Too many mediocre teams getting beat on by a few good ones, then they hype them to the point of exhaustion. Congratulations you beat the Little Sisters of The Poor by a field goal at the end of the game. You truly are the best.
December 4, 2007 at 5:53 am #629692What a costly timeout by the Ravens on that drive. It cost them the game hands down.
Like them or not, they found a way to win…and I thought the last TD was legit…..just my .02 though. Those are tough judgement calls to make…
Great game to watch though even though I don’t really care for either team.
The radar is definetly on the Pats…..Pitt next week could also be an amazing game, but it would be the sports STORY OF THE YEAR if an 0-15 Dolphins would Upset a 15-0 Pats……Can you imagine???

Well man, I totally agree with you! Oh, and get ready to take a beating….I call him belicheat, and them the new england cheaters, and you’d think I shot peoples’ dogs with the replies I get. Oh well, I’m steadfast in my belief that they have something in common with bonds….they both need an asterik!
But the point is, yes…..I’m sick of them and was very disgusted with the way the game ended Mon night. They are very good, and we’re seeing what happens when you have a great QB with great WRs, and a good D to boot, but man….I am sick of em.
tbuaer66Posts: 66December 4, 2007 at 6:38 am #629697This is classic of any football dynasty. 49ers, Cowboys, Pittsburgh (70’s),………..if it’s not “our” team, we moan and groan until things finally shake up a bit. I’m not a Patriots fan but back in the days when THEY were the underdogs, I did cheer for them. I wanted them to beat the Pack, I wanted them to beat the Rams, and from there…….. it was just nice to see a team that didn’t fall apart after a good, short run. They’ve been in the thick of things since the mid-90’s and I’m unsure if the annals of football have any comparitive run to compare them to. 12 years…….. they’ve been a force to reckon with and that’s just good business aligned with good coaching and great talent. If you lived in the Boston area, would you be sick of this??? Imagine if the Twins, or Vikes, or Timberwolves, or Wild……. went on a 12 year run of being “the team” to beat? I’d love it!!!!
I’ve hated other teams much more than any bitterness I have developed toward the Pats so I’m kind of indifferent to the whole thing.
As for the “hate mail”, the cheating comments have all been explained a million times before so let it go already. Find something else because you can’t get this far in professional sports by simply cheating. 12 YEARS! There’s WAAAAAAY too many people involved for ANYONE to ever pull that off. Ya know, actually, I’d rather you had shot a dog……….. at least that’d be worthy of continued discussion.
December 4, 2007 at 7:55 am #629703Yep they almost lost….
Go Pats!
On a side note STOP WHINNING ALREADY….
December 4, 2007 at 1:47 pm #629718It was a very good game adn I don’t think I will ever get sick of the Pats beating up on teams. I jumped on the bandwagon years ago when Bledsoe was quarterback and have been a fan ever since. Besides the recent cheating incident, this team has always been made up of classy hard-working people who get it done on the field.

What deserves an asterisk?
December 4, 2007 at 2:37 pm #629732I watched the last 5 minutes of the game. I almost puked listening to the announcers, man they are horrible.
As far as the Pats, they had lost that game on numerous occasions, but the Ravens gave them breaks. The Pats did not win that game, the Ravens lost it.
The TD reception, not even a call. He has two hands on the ball, goes to tuck the ball, entirely in control, never a question. I was surprised they made as big of a deal out of it as they did.
The cheating thing, IMHO, the Pats got caught doing something every team was doing, maybe they were blatantly filming, but if teams were not doing it they are stupid. Remember when teams started covering their mouths when they call plays? It was because teams were employing lip readers to watch and tell the plays. Is it illegal, problably, was it unethical, yes, but was it a competetive advantage, Heck yeah.
I got a huge kick out of the last play, the Hail Mary Pass. The first receiver goes down and starts pushing defenders out of the way, mugging them so the second receiver can catch the ball. I have not seen it that obvious before, but man did he start blocking. Would have been interesting if it worked
As far as the dynasty. Not a Pats fan, but I have an easier time watching them then the Cowboys dynasty of coke dealers and gang bangers
December 4, 2007 at 3:04 pm #629734Too bad they didn’t keep Shula in the booth for the finish so we could hear him like a baby. I’m not a Pats fan, but hope they go undefeated so we never have to hear about the ’72 Dolphins and their champagne ever again. What a bunch of classless PUKES!
December 4, 2007 at 3:14 pm #629737Great Thread!
Someone earlier commented that maybe Belichick was paying for favors from the refs: COME ON! you’re not serious, are you? Now, don’t get me wrong – I’ve seen too many calls that are very questionable and have a definite impact on the outcome of a game (see last weeks Packers-Cowboys game – PASS INTERFERENCE??? Right…). Are those calls all ‘just bad calls’ and ‘just coincidence’? Who knows… but if I were to throw out a hypothesis as to who/what may be behind those calls, I’d offer a suggestion: the League itself. The League is, after all, a business unto itself and it represents a cooperation of a number of other pretty big businesses (each team). It’s all about advertising revenue and marketing…
There’s one big glaring hole in my argument, though… I’m going back to the Packer-Boys game – now, if you’re the League, what could be better than a Packer-Boy Championship Game at Lambeau in January??? THE ICE-BOWL RETURN!!! FROZEN TUNDRA!!! DARN COLD WEATHER!!!
Now, with the Pats (who are, by the way, my second favorite team – lived out in MA for a few years before moving back to Cheeseland), the League is milking this situation for all it can – “Can they go undefeated???”, “Will the lowly “O”-fer Dolphins pull the greatest upset in all of mankinds’ history????” (hear tense, suspense-generating music playing in the background???)…
Personally, I think it would be great if the Pats won every single game leading up to the Superbowl. The last two weeks, though, they’ve been way too close in games that shouldn’t have been anywhere near a match. Weaknesses have been exposed, there are chinks in their armor. Now, if the Pack makes it to the Big Game and they’re playing against the Pats, I hope the Patriots end up losing just one game this season. Now, if the League wants an excellent story to tell (kinda like the “John Elway Story” a few years back), they’ll see that Favre wins one more ring and then retires triumphant after one of the most amazing seasons in Packer history.
December 4, 2007 at 3:45 pm #629750I’m calling it Now Pitt beats the Pats next week. I think 2 straight weeks now the Pats weakness has been exposed. if you can slow down the passing game they can’t run. The Steelers have just the team to beat them. they have a good Defense, and they have a RB that only gets stronger as the game goes on. If Big Ben can keep his cool, and stand in the pocket and take a few hits to make a completion or two, and let’s them have a chance to use fast Willie I think we see an upset. They just can’t fall behind early. That has been everyones down fall. they fall behind 14-21 to 0 and have no option but to pass.
Plus if you can put the Pats in short yardage they have a hard time. I think they got lucky with the time out call, but they got even luckier with the false start. That took them from 4th and 1 to 4th and 6. (I wouldn’t be suprised if that was planned.) They don’t run well, (however that’s because they don’t know how to use the stud back they have in Maroney) but if you put them in a spot where they can pass they have a play book full of passing plays and will give you 5 different looks for the same play, and that’s when they are unbeatable.
Let’s go Steelers!
December 4, 2007 at 4:47 pm #629766I find it hard not to like the Patriots. Everything we complain about in the NFL – classless players, clueless coaches, poor ownership – is not on display in Foxboro.
After awhile we tend to stop cheering for the team that always wins and cheer for the underdog, but I like the teams that play the right way and handle themselves in a professional manner in the process!December 5, 2007 at 1:48 am #629991Quote:

Nicely put! Fun team to watch, and it may be interesting to see some history this season. “Camera Gate” carries no weight anymore, just another story that was expounded on by the media.
December 5, 2007 at 2:35 am #630016I believe, and Cougareye correct me if I am wrong, but a reception is ball controlled and “THEN” 2 feet in bounds. By the replays I seen, he did not control the ball with both feet in bounds, just one. This ain’t college.

December 5, 2007 at 2:42 am #630021I believe you’re correct on the rule Big G, but IMO he had control. He just didn’t tuck it away but he had complete fingertip control. The control part has some room on judgement of the officials.

December 10, 2007 at 8:43 pm #631860Ok Let me be the 1st to Say I was wrog about Pit beating the Pats, however in my own defense, I didn’t figure anyone would be as stupid as Smith to promise a win over the Pats. Way to go buddy, they are hands down the best team in the NFL and you decided to motivate them. ( wonder what would happen if he tried that against the Dolphins?
Second Pit, didn’t follow my game plan. But in the end the only thing that matters is I WAS WRONG.
