I am waiting for the next run of the snow blower to keep up with the snow. I am also thinking of what this white stuff is doing to the creation of solid ice on my favorite lakes? What do you guys and gals think? What else is going on around the area? It sounds like all of you in Iowa are getting by some really weird stuff.

Fluffy snow like this shouldn’t hurt the ice. It is the wet slushy crud that makes it a mess…

I agree with Tuck. This stuff doesn’t seem to have much moisture in it. With the next week highs at 26 for the highest and lows in single digits, that should help too.

I’ll trade you all your snow for the 1/2-3/4 inch of ice we have here. My trees can’t take much more of this. Looks like march of 07 all over again.

Just saw that on the news Herb…not good!
I see a few planes skidded off runways down in Iowa.

Hopefully with the strong winds, it blows most of it off the lakes and will have little effect.

I just know that it sure made it fun driving back to school today(150 miles to Marshall, MN)

We had to drive about 50 miles in this stuff this afternoon. Not good at all! Please people, if you have to drive BE CAREFUL! If there is anyway to stay put, do so.

That said, let it snow! I love this stuff and we’ve missed several blizzards over the last number of years. We are up’nort after all, let’s start to look like it.

uhg. I fly out to South Carolina Monday morning. HOPEFULLY, they got the runways cleared by then.

On a side note, they said to expect 10-15 inches north of the cities. I look out my window and see about 4-6 max!

I made a similar comment yesterday while clearing the 3/4 inch of ice off my car… YECK, I’ll take a good blizzard anyday. Thankfully we didn’t have the power issues of this past winters mess.
