I suggest that we all stand, place our right hands over our hearts, and recite the Packer Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the Packers
of Green Bay, Wisconsin
And to the Field on which they play
Frozen tundra
Under Lambeau
With winning and victory for all!
Tony Kornhieser said it all before the game- “Brett Favre IS a legend”, man this year has to be just killing the Favre hater’s who said “why dosen’t he just retire?”. You know what I say: “Kiss my green and gold “
I am not a Green Bay fan but i sure am a fan of this guy. Wow does he have passoin for the game!
When you watch Bret play and the fun and enthusiasm he shows it reminds me of the way my son looked when he scored his first touchdown in 6th grade footbal – he’s having a blast and how can you not like that?
that last pass to Jennings was vintage Favre
did anyone catch the starting line-up intros by Tauscher? He introduced Favre as Vinny Testeverde’s father
Did you see Jennings quote after the game?
“He still has the arm. I mean, he overthrows us a lot, and it’s like: ‘this guy is 70-years old, and he’s overthrowing us”
I’m not a Green Bay fan, but I do have a lot of respect for Favre.
Quote:
As a Viking fan, I preferred the Vicodin Favre.
This is such a lame comment…….
Why do Vikings fans always use this stuff when they do not have anything else relevant to say??
It’s like your queens are angels…..
lord knows I hate the stinking packers. BUT I will be sad when Favre retires I like to watch him.
My team will always be the Vikings (unfortunatly)
the only good news about the day Favre retires will be that all of the Packer fans will have to watch their team lose too!!!
Although all we will hear about is how good the packers used to be

Because these are the two “relevant” headlines on Fox Sports right now.
1) Former Minnesota Vikings QB Jeff George wants another chance
2) Pennington to Chiefs or Vikings?
We don’t have anything to throw back at ya, so for now, How’s Lofton handling the stairs these days?

So that is the issue…..if you have something to “throw back” ??
Lofton is a poor example if that’s what your looking for…ancient history !…,talk about apples and oranges!!
Brett is as fine an example of what is an NFL player is out there……
Unlike SOME NFL stars, his problem did’nt involve getting into confrontations at bar time with all his “posse”,or having sex on a boat with prosties,or such…..
He was straight up and honest about it,and still is!
You can argue how good he is,or not all you want…
It’s the man that matters….
And, IMHO , he has done right….
So enough with the “Vicodin” stuff.
This chapter of this “legacy” should never have been written. Denver should have won it in regulation. Twice their reciever stayed in bounds instead of stepping out with less than 30 seconds left to play. Cost them about 10 seconds and probably 2 more shots at scoring a TD at the end.
That said though, he didn’t step out, and Favre got the chance and made the throw. Story written.
What happened in last nights game has nothing to do with what my issue is…games are games.
Everyone has their opinion of who is the greatest…..
To slam a man with what happened YEARS ago is just plain wrong!!

I wasn’t making any reference to anything you said, or anything that happened years ago, I simple clicked “reply” on the last post so I could throw my $.02 in.
The Vikings should have beaten the Packers if they would have made plays, Now the Bronco’s, throw in Philly and the Giants, but the fact remains that good teams find ways to win week in and out and the bad teams and there fans complain about a bad call from the refs and how they all they had to do was make this play or that play. The fact remains it was and is the Packers who are making the plays to win ball games and not the opposition.

How true Corey. There will be a time when the Packers will only win a game or two in a season.
Like I said……”he didn’t step out, and Favre got the chance and made the throw. Story written.”
Maybe what we all need to realize is this. These are grown men getting paid a buttload of money to play a freakin game . when they win it doesnt make you a better person. when they lose you dont become a second class citizen. So if someone else has a different opinion of your team ,maybe, just maybe they are NOT attacking you so give it a rest and LET IT GO . There that is my opinion
Sounds like what an old golfing buddy used to say when I beat him. If this, if that, if I would have just hit that ball a little harder, if,if, if.
The bottom line is,
Green Bay had a horse shoe up there collective ‘s that night!
The magic carpet ride will come crashing down soon enough!

You viking fans need to quit abusing us green bay fans just because we are going to win the super bowl for the next three years straight. Maybe even four if favre comes back to play again. My prediction for the super bowl, packers 77 patriots 3!
Yes, the Vikings suck this year. But when you guys make crazy remarks like above you have to be called out on it. I would like to know what you were smoking when you thought Green Bay would beat New England by 74 points.
If you enjoy the if game we could bring up the Bear Game. The Pack ran up 389 yards in the first half and still lost. How many if’s could us Pack Fans use on that one. Bottom line is with the Denver Win things have evened out.

Nice, a little venom is coming out! Actually Green Bay is starting to become a national play with the Cowboys as early odds on favorites to go to the Super Bowl out of the NFC no matter what the experts around here think. If they find a running game like they did Monday night and they stay relatively injury free I certainly couldnt find a better team to go! Hey just a heads up for football fans of any team: I will be staying at the Apple River campground 12 miles south of Lambeau Field off of HWY 41 next Saturday night and the on Sunday after a short church service (probably a bloody and suds) heading up to the hollowed grounds for my first pilgrimage in about 6 years. Stop in and warm yourself around the campfire and enjoy a cold one on me and talk football!!!!
If the Packers do go to the bowl and get there collective ‘s handed to them by the mighty Patriots all the better for enjoying the ride. In the words of Denny Green “If you want to crown them- Then crown them”…..
No need to apoligize Targaman. I can dish it out and can take it, so all is good. I have not been in these threads much, but when I see something that needs correcting I chime in.
P.S. A overtime win is not considered smoking a team. Now 52-7 is smoking a team, just ask Joe Gibbs.
MS:
I think you’re missing my point. These shots at Packers from the past are all we have right now. In effect then, they’re veiled compliments since we have nothing else to slam the packers on right now.
This is all in fun for me! And Favre is and has been a great player to watch!! Even if he wears green and gold!

Both teams blew (2) 1st down and goal to go chances and had to settle for field goals. Had both teams scored TD’s instead of field goals then the game still would have been tied and required sudden death.
You are only looking at what you would have liked to have had happen and saying GB was the luckier team.
I need to correct myself, the Broncos blew a 3rd 1st and goal chance when the lineman caused Cutler to fumble the ball. But the “what ifs” could go on forever and only seeing them as one sided is not too impartial. It is a long season and we will see what happens. Go Pack!
