I would guess that ticket prices will go up in the town he signs in, but if you are paying $75-100 a ticket it is because you can afford it. When I go to watch the brew-crew with the family the most I will spend per ticket is $30 and a little as $15 a ticket not the best seats in the house but we are allways pleased with the seats. Ofcourse our team salary is “only” about 70 million this year.
The irony of this is, if teachers, paramedics, firefighters, cops and soldiers made what pro athletes make, we’d see the same negotiational issues in those fields. Human nature. In a way, I’m glad they don’t make the bigs bucks. Let’s keep the haggling and stikes out of the important segments of life.
WOW. It sounds like A-Rod and his agent thought a little too much of themselves. Apparently there wasn’t the $300-$350 market they thought. A-Rod had to go beg the Yankees without Boras to get them back to the table. Sounds like he is getting 10 year, 270 -280 million. I sure thought the Yankees were going to hold out seeing as A-Rod’s salary only cost them $7 million last year and now they have to cover the whole cost.
That is a nice chuck of change. I sure wish when I was a kid I would have worked harder at being able to hit a curve ball!
