Farve ties/sets int record as the Bears defeat the Packers at Lambeau. The first loss for the Pack, there goes the 16-0 season. Anyone taking odds on 15 – 1?

I must admit I loved how every bit of cheese went silent in the stadium with 2:05 left in the 4th when the Bears scored.

he now owns the record for most career interceptions.
I though Warren Moon did that in his 1st couple seasons in Minnesota?
Im not a Green Bay fan(border rival thing), but I’ll give Farve credit… he has earned his fame, he is a great quarterback.

I agree!

Bring on the Skins!!!!
October 8, 2007 at 2:35 pm #614523Gov. Doyle proclaimed yesterday as “Brett Favre Record Day” He probably should have taken note on where Favre was at on the career interception list before he did that… just a thought.

He earned it, along with his other records.

Ooops
October 8, 2007 at 4:44 pm #614561One consistant thing about the Packers.
Their coach’s are the the dumbest coaches around, bar none. We got Brett Favre as QB. Lets run our seventh round draft picks and forget about Brett and his recievers. Lets forget about 19 out of 21 completions in the first half. Duh
October 8, 2007 at 5:00 pm #614568Not much differnt than the Queens coaches…..Run Pterson all over the feild the 1st 1/2 and not play him hardly in the 2nd 1/2 as to not run him down over the coarse of the year! THESE GUYS ARE THE DUMBEST COACHES AROUND!!!
FRIVERS2Posts: 240October 8, 2007 at 5:11 pm #614572Actually 19 of 22 completions in the first half, but two were intenionally grounded so that makes 19 of 20; not bad for the old guy.
Despite 5 turn overs the Pack could have won this game except for poor play calling in the second half. As for Brett’s interception, not good, but he had completed 143 passes without an interception during the last three games.
Luby Smith has now won 4 straight games at Lambeau; any idea who the last coach to do that was.
bigpikePosts: 6259October 8, 2007 at 6:09 pm #614596Bud Grant. I think the fact the Packers began to develop a run game yesterday will have long term benefits, you have to be able to run the ball and yesterday was a good start even if they lost the game. Sloppy play, poorly timed penaltys and fumbles is what caused this loss. Not play selection
October 8, 2007 at 8:02 pm #614626this post is kind of boring compared to the vikes-pack post last week. was looking forward to a bunch of smack talk, excuses, and name calling wheres honda go bears
October 8, 2007 at 8:09 pm #614628I think it’s appropriate the record Farve sets against certain teams. All time touchdown record goes to the Vikings! Ties the all time intereception record against the Bears! It couldn’t be more fitting!
You just couldn’t toss one more could you Brett? Although let’s be honest with the Bears causeing 2 fumbles I guess he did get 2 drives shortend in which he could have tossed another INT!
October 9, 2007 at 2:15 am #614727Go bears, and actually I am very impressed with Greise’s performance last night actually for only being his 2nd start in the past 3 years.

True, however, the significant difference is the Vikes did not lose.
heimdawgPosts: 156October 9, 2007 at 1:10 pm #614843Where’s Drew Bledsoe when you need him? He always makes his backups look great.
October 9, 2007 at 2:20 pm #614879That is why Favre is just good, not great. I would rather have a consistant QB that I can build around vs someone so streaky that he can give up a game vs anyone. Sure, when he is on, there is no one better, ever. But when he is off, he is REALLY bad.
How can you really expect to win 3-4 games in a row vs playoff teams and win a title w/ someone who gives away so many games?
Like I said before, the Pack will need a ton of breaks to even make the playoffs. They are not that good.
October 9, 2007 at 2:37 pm #614887I’m not a Packer fan, but I’ll say this. IMHO Brett is a great QB. However, he’s not surrounded by great players. If they had another receiver who’s the quality of Driver, then he’d be that much better. Add a running game with one veteran RB and look out.
I understand he throws into tight coverage. It takes 2 to tango. He’s expecting his receiver to make a great play on that ball and haul it in. It’s what Moss did in MN and I’m sure that’s why he wanted Moss in GB. Randy when he played 100% hauled that ball in. He made Culpepper look awesome. The young receivers GB have now aren’t making those plays. Sure, they are speedy, but that’s only half the battle. They are responsible for that ball when it’s in flight.
Look at Brady in NE. Those receivers are making him look insanely good. They are laying it all out there for Brady. They are making plays when they need to be made.
I’ll say this about the one fumble by Jones. I’m not sure there’s a player in the league who would have held onto the ball when that Chi. player punched it the way he did. He hit the ball right on the button and it popped out. Stuff like that happens. Everyone has a bad day. Wasn’t Brett raving about Jones the week preceding the game?
October 9, 2007 at 2:59 pm #614897Brady won 3 Superbowls w/out a good receiver and an average running game. He is great because he makes lightening fast decisions and is accurate.
October 9, 2007 at 3:35 pm #614908Favre is good but not great? He isn’t consistent? I really hate getting into these type of debates so I’ll keep this short. Favre is most likely the best NFL QB of all time. His stats will back that up as will his career win/loss record. In his completed seasons thus far he has had only ONE losing season. If that isn’t the making of a consistent, great QB, I don’t know what is. Favre, Marino, Elway, Montana. The list of elite QBs is extremely short compared to the list of average to good QBs. Brady and Manning will be on the elite list as well as they too have earned it.
October 9, 2007 at 3:42 pm #614910He has as many rings as Trent Dilfer. I thought it was all about titles for Packer fans, Favre has fallen way short.
You cant take both sides of an arguement, can you?
Please discuss.

Deion Branch wasn’t a good receiver? Seems to me he was a SB MVP in ’05.
Corey Dillon was average? hmmm…..I’d wager the Pack would LOVE to have an average back like that…
A QB can make all the lightning fast decisions and accurate throws he wants, but if he’s throwing to Troy Williamson, it won’t matter a whole hill of beans.
October 9, 2007 at 3:56 pm #614918How many rings does Marino have? Isn’t he regarded as one of he best?
Just wondering.
bigpikePosts: 6259October 9, 2007 at 3:56 pm #614919Favre has one Super bowl ring, two NFC titles, 8 NFC North titles, 3 MVP’s, and ten or so Pro Bowl’s if you want to keep staking up Dilfers numbers to Favre’s I can keep going. Now its your turn. Every team and player would love to win the Super Bowl every year but only one team and one QB gets to say there are it. Would you consider Tarkenton a great QB even though he lost 3 or 4 super bowls. I do, I certainly dont consider Dilfer great, he’s not even marginal. He got lucky and was in the right place at the right time. Bret Favre certainly has not been lucky to achieve all he has, more super bowl victory’s would be great for any team. I will take the one he got us and cherish it, then all the other great things he has done is gravy.
