Earlier today, I posted some comments regarding the much anticipated border battle. The Viking/Packer saga continued today as I am sure it will for a long time to come. Regardless, I posted comments on the thread that I have come to find out others took offense to. I am posting this message here to explain my actions and to clarify any misunderstandings.
My comments were nothing more than FREINDLY banter. I did not attack anyone on this board for their views. In fact, earlier in the day, I received a lot of “smoking something” or “drinking something” comments that were directed to me. I, on the other hand, did not direct any comments to the IDA community. I did direct comments to the opponents and players. In my book, I believe public figures to be fair game. But from what I understand, others believe that I took it too far. Personally, I am not sure.
In my line of business, I work with others all over the nation. I have endured many ribbings… Randy Moss, the Love Boat… you name it, the Vikings have not been without controversy (and more so than our Wisconsin rivals)… and I have heard it from MANY angles. A year ago I was in Seattle on a business trip. The Vikings were playing that Sunday against the seahawks… and I heard it the entire week every single day. I met with hundreds of people while conducting a training seminar and I heard it from all of them. What I mean to say is that banter created from rival teams is only that… Banter. None of what I said was intended to hurt any fellow IDA’ers. I did not make the post and remove the thread either. This was done without my knowledge. In fact, right after the game, I took my daughter to a movie only to come back to a PM from a member questioning my integrity and maturity and I found the post deleted. I knew nothing about what happened or what road the thread went down. It was not by my hand that the post was deleted (I do not have that ability on the board).
We are all on this board for a similar reason. Fellowship in fishing and sportsmanship. So, to hopefully smooth any waters… I issue this apology for anyone who was offended by my words. My intension was freindly. But was apparently not taken as so. So, to my Wisconsin brethren, Here is to Farve and # 422
