How many of you have stuff listed on the classifieds, get a email or pm from someone saying they want it, agree to a price, then when it comes down to closing the deal they never get back to you?

I wouldn’t ever consider anything sold until the check clears the bank. The vast majority of the people that hang out here are top notch but there’s always a stinker or two to complicate things.
Maybe down the road we’ll need to add a buyer and seller rating system.
shaylaPosts: 1399September 27, 2007 at 8:09 pm #611597My frustration lies in getting the ad posted in the first place. Having said that, I am still waiting on a check for the Lowrance DVD’s….hope it arrives soon because my kid needs more formula and diapers.

Does it count when the significant other finds out or becomes involved?
I have had to back out of a deal once or twice, but communicated with the seller. I have been left hanging once or twice too. I havent had much for problems with buyers here.
I really dont think we need a buyer/seller rating system.. whats next… credit score under the fish bucks?

Trust me, that was WAY tongue in cheek. As always… caveat emptor.

I know James.. I could see how others might misinterpit though(especially after my response )
September 28, 2007 at 12:13 am #611666Well at least if have to back out be nice enough to send the guy a PM saying that you no longer want it, dont leave a guy hanging
September 28, 2007 at 7:06 am #611717It has happened to me. I thought my listing was sold so I marked it as sold, and now I can’t go back and edit it that is is still for sale.
September 28, 2007 at 10:36 am #611723It goes both ways. Its not just the “buyers”. I pm’d someone about an item listed. Its still shown as for sale. I never even got a response.

Maybe a follow up PM would have helped with a read receipt.
September 28, 2007 at 11:55 pm #611897Well, I got a read recipt. It was red the day after it was sent.
I was willing to spend some money, but wasn’t gonna beg.
September 29, 2007 at 2:43 am #611922That’s why a paypal account is handy. It ain’t sold until the money has been transfered.
September 29, 2007 at 3:32 am #611929I’ve had two offers to buy my auger…first on fell though..haven’t heard from the second fella. Just got an email from the third. The first one with the cash gets it.
Frustrated…na…Just online selling. Some work out quickly…others take a bit.
September 30, 2007 at 2:07 am #612051I hear ya there I got a couple things to sell now. It’ll be my first classified here. Hope fully it goes smooth but the first with the money walks away with the rods and reels.

mrbillPosts: 4October 1, 2007 at 7:29 pm #612441Speaking of the classified section, when did it get so expensive to list something? I was going to place a “for sale” ad for a trolling motor and it was going to cost me $16.99 with a photo. Is that correct? I have not listed anything for sale for some time now and it was a surprise.
October 1, 2007 at 8:23 pm #612453I think thats if you have IDA post the picture for you if you do it it’s much less if I’m not mistaken…

Your trolling motor should have cost you right around $6. Minus fish bucks. If I have to add the photos for you… it will cost you.
Do note the the photo upload system is so darned easy to use nobody should have to pay me to add a photo… and nobody ever has… thankfully. On other fishing sites photos of any kind are extra. Not here… as long as you add them yourself.
October 2, 2007 at 11:57 pm #612859Can I start posting the names of people who pm to buy then never respond back after I return the pm
