Fishing Journal Software

This past weekend when fishing with Don the topic of keeping a journal came up. Don shared with me that he takes notes after every trip.

This is something that is long over due with me.

I’m curious if there is good software out there where I can enter a report, but also enter “relevant” data.

If I put all this data somewhere, I would want something that I could run a quick search to pull up history.

For example, maybe I want to run a report on everytime I fished Wissota on a full moon day in July to see if there is trend. Or start to enter barometric pressure readings to look at trends.

    Does anything like this exist?

My boyfriend does this and just uses Microsoft Excel. It actually works pretty well! He includes all the info that you mentioned…location, weather, time of day and somehow sets it up, so that he can easily go back and look at the history for the lake he’s going to fish that day. I’m not an Excel expert, so I can’t tell you exactly how he does it, but I could find out. I don’t think it would be that difficult to explain. Especially if you know a little bit about Excel. It’s mostly just knowing the formulas to use to search for the info later. Just let me know if you’re interested and I will try to get you the info.

It costs $29.99 but it adds the weather in for you. You can keep all your hunting and fishing in one place.

Scott, do you have a membership? It looks like it’s $30 per year.

Yep I do. I have helped them develop / test a few things since they came out late last year. I never kept reports in the past, now I do all mine, and all my friends and use the wether patterns the most.

    Looks like it’s $29.95

What would be sweet would be to have all your notes on an MMC that you could load into your graph whenever you are on the water and need some help! Something you could read just like a map chip. Pull up your lake and scroll thru it for any notes that may help you on any given day.
