Today I watched him tie Dan Marino’s record…

I didn’t get to see the game but did listen to the last 4 minutes.
From what I did hear, the defense must have played good ball, and recovered a turn over at a key time
According to the score the offence of line must have played tough also. I didn’t see the game but it sounds like they all stepped up to the plate and play tough ball

He is the best, and there is nothing better then having him in a Packer Uniform all these years.

And for whatever reason, I think this may be his best year in a long time.

Oh know, it soon will be starting. This post is going to get old very fast, will we now see a re-enactment of the “superbowl shuffle” done w/ Green and Gold? Give Favre his dues, he is that good but needs to get hit a few times so he starts chucking the ball up…unless he starts pop’n pills then look out !

    Over and out…

I witnessed a legend today too. I witnessed Bret “The Channel Cat Commander” Clark hook a Smallie on a Rat-L-Trap today. With his sheer will and incredible mental powers he magically turned that Smallie into a Channel Cat.

I knew Channel Cats would eat dang-near anything, but to eat a Rat-L-Trap and jump clear out of the water like a Smallie is mind-boggling to me.

Bret, you should change your last name to Copperfield with magical powers like that.

That would’ve been a cool game to see today, another brush stroke by the master. How many more milestones did he tie or pass today??? I am going to the Viking game in November and I am stoked, this will be my first game in Lambeau in 6 years…. it has been too long…

Maybe I shouldn’t have sold my Bears tickets. Now I’ll just have to wait for the Redskins game. The season is turning out better than I expected. Some of these younger players must be excited to play the game with someone like Favre when they watched him from the TV set when they were kids.

Congrats to Favre and the Packers for this feat. It truly shows recognition for years of effort. Any football fan has to acknowledge as much.

“He needs to be hit a few times” ; don’t you have any idea of how many times Brett Favre has been hit in hs career.

Not so much today, but the other thing I noted was how quickly he got rid of the ball against the Giants. Bing, bam, pass completion.

Perhaps Mike McCarthy has the same ability to work with Favre as Holmgren did.

Call it 400 hundred yards of offense, less than forty of it running.I derive GREAT pleasure listening to Collinsworth,Bradshaw and a HOST of blabbermouth sports announcers having to eat crow.It will be over when Favre says it’s over..that is WHY he’s Favre.
The team was good all around and GREAT when it counted in all three phases of the game.If the injury bug stays away, this is gunna be FUN!

My eighty four year old Dad,accomponied by my Sister WAS at the game.It was was his first ever trip to Lambeau. At Dads’ age not too much gets him revved….this did.He stopped over at 10:15 last night to relay the experience.Apparently the Faithfull are in unusual form (even for them).Dad claims the fans are better than Farve and he is “just somethin else again”

Well LazyEyez he never mentioned Super Bowl, he is just stating his belief on this being Favre’s best year in years. I will stand on the ledge with him and agree. You have to remember he hasn’t had a really good year in some time! If he can take his checkdowns instead of forceing the ball, he will have his best year in years. They have Brett on a pace this year to throw the ball 667 times!! I know there are alot of fantasy football teams out there right now that wish they had Brett as their man I just hope that this weekend if he breaks the TD record in the Homer Dome that the fans don’t give themselves a blackeye by booing.

How long before he sets the interception record?

Brett Favre Career Interception Record Watch

George Blanda currently holds the record, but Brett is closing in fast! This is where we will keep track of this important milestone.

*Stats Update (9-24-2007) Only two left to tie the record!

George Blanda Stats: Total games played: 340; career interceptions thrown: 277. Which gives Blanda 0.81 interceptions per game.

Brett Favre Stats: Total games played: 244; career interceptions thrown: 275. Which gives Favre 1.13 interceptions per game.

For comparison purposes with an excellent quarterback, Joe Montana threw only 0.72 interceptions per game.

Interesting Favre interception fact: Favre is currently tied for second place in total career playoff interceptions thrown with 26 (Terry Bradshaw has 26 and Jim Kelly has 28). While throwing three interceptions to gain the top spot would likely only take Favre a single game, getting to the playoffs again to have the chance is the true challenge, especially with Favre at the helm. Let’s hope for at least a wildcard loss to give Favre the one game he needs!

Here’s to starting your career off right: Favre’s first pass in the NFL was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Favre’s first completion in the NFL was a tipped pass to himself for -7 yards. Merely an omen of the greatness to come. Pile up those interceptions Favre!

What I noticed is the O line is giving Bret some time, we still need a running game, or a threat of a running game. The previous post??? Don’t home run hitters strike out the most? Bret is a home run hitter, he sure can have his bad days, and he sure has the good ones also, so to own the interception record comes with the gunslinger territory. It won’t keep him out of Cooperstown.

I would think he’s got a better shot at Canton ? If he makes it to Cooperstown, then he is the all time greatest athlete…. period.

You wont find Rob Deere or Cecil Fielder in Cooperstown.

Farve will make the Hall (the one in Canton-thanks to Madden talking about how wonderfull he is for 15 years), but he is FAR to inconsistent to be considered great.

So lets talk supporting cast……seeing’s how you want to compare Favre to the other greats. Montana/Rice, Marino/Duper/Clayton, Bradshaw/Stallworth/Swann, Aikman/Irvin and need I point out these were all winning teams, ie…you don’t “HAVE” to try and force balls when you are winning!!! Favre has NEVER thrown to HAll of Fame receiver. The only person he ever threw to that would have been hall of fame quality is Sterling Sharpe. And just think of how the records would look now!!!! But thanks for bring the INT record up, I would’ve forgotten about that one, if it wasn’t for some of you Viqueen fans. Hey at least you’ll get to see the game this week on TV

“never threw to a Hall of Fame type receiver” in 1993, Mark Clayton, playing for the Packers, was a target for Favre.

Your words, not mine. I put Hall of Fame TYPE, your words were leading that Marino threw to Duper and Clayton and are HOF, which neither are.

Colklink, if Favre makes it into the Baseball & football hall of fames, I don’t think its that bold….

I think you missed the error above – Cooperstown was for baseball – so if Favre makes it there as a QB, then he’d be the greatest athelete ever seeing as he’s never played baseball….

It was an error turned joke…..

Favre has thrown a bunch of interceptions – Guess what?

    WHO CARE’S?

Home Run kings also strike out a lot

    WHO CARE’S?

    Answer: Nobody

Sorry, my bad I was just reading about baseball greats cooperstown stuck in my head. There’s no doubt Farve will be in the hall, and I didn’t once see a touchdown pass to Madden to help him to the record. I won’t go as far as to say he’s the greatest ever, I will say he takes the most chances and sometimes his confidence is his downfall. I guess I don’t see how Madden has anything to do with the voting. If you see things your way, Daunte should make the hall too! Wasn’t Madden on his bandwagon a few years back?

Ok reread my reference to “supporting cast”. The only time I made reference to HOF is stateing that Favre has never thrown to a HOF reciever. Just for the record Rice is not a HOFer either seeing how we are getting technical here

    Through first 9 seasons:

    Favre- 213 TD Passes
    P.Manning- 280 TD Passes

This record will mean nothing in 5 years.

Marino never had a running game and his receivers werent good. How did Duper and Clayton do when they left Marino?

Who were Elway’s super star receivers? Michael Irvin was a decent possession receiver, check out his numbers, they arent that impressive.

Montana had Rice, but he also took KC to an AFC Championship game w/ nobody and he was (like) 62 years old.

Farve is good, not great. He gives too many games away. That is why he only went to 2 Superbowls, it is too tough to win 3 in a row against good teams when you are that erratic.

Do you see now who started making comparisons first…..I see 3 HOF quaterbacks mentioned.

So since Favre hold almost every major statistical category for a quaterback and he is just “Good”, the rest must just be average, right????
