In the July 2003 issue of Popular Mechanics, on page 22, there is a short collum entitled “Painless Fishing”.
It states that the studies of Mr. James D. Rose of the University of Wyoming have proven that fish do not experience pain. It stated that being hooked was of little discomfort, but care should be taken when landing and handleing.
Might be something to keep in mind when PITA comes knocking at the door.
