Dimmer for boat gauges

    I bought a new Alumacraft Trophy 175 and was out night fishing during the recent new moon. I noted that the gauge lights were too bright and affected my night vision with all the reflections off the windshield. Anyone else have this problem? How about a solution? If automobiles have dimmers, couldn’t I install a dimmer to alleviate this night fishing/navigating problem?

    If the lights are independent of the circuity of the gauge function a rheostat installed in the main light circuit would work.You got me thinkin…..

    If you can’t solve the problem I know a guy that would love a Trophy 175…..
