I snagged a decent quality jigging rod with an upper end reel with line and jig still attached – line was all spooled up so would guess it fell out of boat. Owner may claim by properly identifying it. It was found just up river from Young cabin (in the rocks) in about 12′ of water

    Funny Bret!

By the way…if it’s spooled with 80 pound power pro…it’s mine!

I was catching 8 pound walleyes there and one of the bullheads I was using for bait pulled it out of the boat.

Ok, seriously…very nice of you trying to find the rightful owner.

I have this nasty habit of trolling (long line) down river – for whatever reason I seen to snag a lot of fishing gear – 3rd rod I’ve caught in last couple of years – found owners for the other two right away – both guys from Illinois

I lost a Legend Elite there a couple of years ago.

I will clean up rod and try to identify brand – it has a couple hundred zebra mussels attached to it – have had 4 replies (including private messages) – seems that’s a popular spot for losing rods. I did receive 1 PM that properly ID’d the reel so will see if rod matches description(brand)

Oh, and I should mention – the jig on it is a dead giveaway – nearly 100% certain it was painted by a certain guy from down Wabasha way (HINT _ he has a nephew named Michael that fishes all summer with him)

Not to hijack your thread, but over the years I’ve seen a fair amount of fishing equipment go overboard. Most recently a St. Croix ultralight in front of the Subway in Lake City in May. Sadly, it barely registers, as the whole dog in a canoe idea proved to be horrible, resulting in all of my rods finding the bottom of a BWCA lake 15 years ago. What’s your worst loss?

I lost the upper half of a brand new Cabela’s 12′ trolling rod – blew out of the boat
