    Hey Guys,

We are considering getting a new Toyota Tundra and I am hoping to get some feedback from anyone who has one. Much like everyone else, they are having some special finance specials right now. I would also like to know what you are pulling behind it.

    Thanks,

    FDR

Test drove one for a week and it was SWEEEEEET!!!!

Read in a magazine that they were not the best off road but never tried for myself.

I bought one last month ( 5 years no interst) I purchased the crew max limited with the 5.7. I love it I have been pulling our 12 foot popup camper and still getting around 15mpg at approx 60-75mph. It is the best truck I have owned. If you have any questions give me a call 763-370-3149. John

I’ve been driving an 02 Tundra for the past couple of years and i have to say it is one of the best trucks I have every driven. No complaints the truck has around 160,000 miles on it and still drives like new.

I agree….I drive an 02 Tundra and it is great….
I have test driven the new 07 and can’t believe the power it has, plus smaller steering wheel and much tighter turning radius than my 02!
Only drawback is it’s a new model in it’s first year….I alway like to wait until year 2 or 3 to get all the bugs out…..

    Eyebuster,
Where and how did you get to “test drive” one for a week?

I know it’s not a Tundra, but I’m completely satisfied with my Tacoma.

I bought a new 2006 Tundra last March…Lots of power and 19-20 mpg on the road. I tend to have a pretty heavy foot too!
I really like it a lot…I had several Z71 Chevs that I liked too…this does everything they did and was cheaper.

Gotta new tundra crew max and it is great. have had chevys, fords, dodges and this is best yet with room and power to spare and good mileage. rides great and doesnt beat me up, gotta bad back and lumbar support w/smooth ride is helpful. Pull 21 triton and work a big ranch as well that is texas canyon country and gets it done in style. go ahead do it you’ll be glad you did.

My buddy bought one last year after hitting the Chevy 100,000 mile blues (cost him about $9,000 before he said enough is enough) and he loves it!

I drove one with a 4.7L DC o7, sweet truck, it might be my next ride.

    Even the CP liked it

Is there 4ft between the wheel well on the Tundra’s?
Are they capable of carrying a camper in the box?
Maybe someone can answer that for me.

    Thanks

We bought a new RAV 4 and had some issues they had to keep it for over a month while a whale brought the part form Japan so in return the guy let me drive one for a while.

The New Full-size Tundra’s will have 4 ft between the wheel wells as well as being capable of holding a camper in the box.

What about the cam shafts? I had heard the engines had blown up and they had a recall.

They had some issues with those. The other issue is when it breaks down in the sticks where do you go to get it fixed. Toyota dealers are not as common as GM, Ford, and Mopar dealers.

This happened in February, and 20 engines in the country had a camshaft journal crack. Not an issue to worry about, although many domestic diehards still rave about it.

Toyota uses the “just in time” manufacturing process, so as soon as a problem is identified, it can be fixed by the part maker imediately and there aren’t huge number of defective vehicles that need to be recalled.

I’ve always wondered why there are big 3 dealers on every corner.

Don’t fool yourself if you think the foreign vehicles don’t fail. They all have their problems.

Everyone in manufacturing uses the JIT system. As far as the engines blowing I would not consider it a minor issue.

Toyota has fixed the issue. If you are afraid to buy something because of a recall, when then I guess you better get used to walking. Here is a list of new trucks recalls (for some reason I don’t see the Tundra recall??).
    New Trucks

    And here are some others.
    other recalls

I didn’t see the Ford cruise control recall listed. You know, the one that starts your truck on fire even when it isn’t running. That seems pretty serious.

I wouldn’t hesitate in getting the Tundra. If the wife would let me, I would have one now.

So you don’t own a tv or dvd player? Must be tough to find fishing lures that are domestic. In fact you must have a pretty bare house if you only buy domestic.

My point was all vehicles have recalls so that is not an argument for not buying a Tundra.

    This is my favorite saying!

Could you tell us what vehicle is made completely in the United States?
