Check on Line for parts. Should be able to find yards close to you and the part you need. I found a rare part that way for my corvette. If you find one in Waterloo/Cedar Falls I’d be glad to pick it up and deliver when I come up that way again. Good Luck

    Dave..

Spend a couple bucks more and get a new gate for that thing. They have aftermarket tailgates for them that are usually cheaper than used(hard to come by not rusty). Its not that difficult to switch over the guts and glass from your old gate. Painting it doesnt cost much at a body shop(they can switch over stuff also).

Looks to me like 83-90. Also note: makes a difference if the spare tire hangs on the back or goes inside.

    hey guys,
it makes a big difference if the guts of the tailgate are rusted out or not…if the tailgate is from the midwest and the molding at the window is all dry rotted…chances are the inside of the tail gate is shot…

when your driving in the winter and all the salt and grime is on the road..the back window collects all of the salt and then melts into the interior of the tailgate…..

no sence in putting a junker back on my jimmy…and to replace the mechanics of the interior of one would be a pain in the butt….

and my spare is on the inside,,,
color makes no difference to me ..as long as it works well..

thanks for all your help everyone…
