need help with Minneapolis route

As I’m not real familiar with all the areas of Minneapolis, I need some route help. We have to go to the Holiday Inn Metrodome (I-94 to Cedar Ave, north to Washington Ave)…I can get there, but then I need to get to Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, on St. Anthony Parkway for a wedding, then back to the hotel. My Streets and Trips runs me across the I-35 bridge….and unless I’m way off….that’s the bridge that collapsed, isn’t it? I need help getting around that route, and need to know how much more time I need to allow.
    Any help?

If you have the addresses, use mapquest.com to get written directions.

That is the hotel they used as a command post for relatives of those involved. The bridge will be right next to you.

Someone here will have routes, otherwise, buy a detailed street map and preplan that route. Not sure if online maps will have the bridge re-routes.

The quickest way, avoiding the bridge, is to take Washington Avenue to the West (right out of the parking ramp), then go North on Central or Highway 65. 65 will take you straight to St. Anthony Parkway, near the church. From 65, turn right onto St. Anthony Parkway, and the church is near the corner of Ulysses, about 9 blocks.

Take the TH280 detour route north to Industrial Blvd. Then go west by the cemetary and golf course.(Cemetary on your Left, Golf Course on your Right) Once you cross over TH88 the road turns into St. Anthony Blvd. Just follow it and Mount Carmel will be on your right, you can’t miss it! I hope that’s correct because it’s coming from a 30-yr. old memory of my Sunday school days at Mt. Carmel!

Thanks, That’s what I needed. Can I take the same route in reverse to get back to the hotel for the reception? Are any of the roads one way only?

Central Ave(hwy 65) is 3rd Ave on the Downtown Minneapolis side of the river… hang a right on 3rd Ave, it changed to central on the other side of the river.
