Jusst looking at the river level forecast for our area. We’ve had quite a lot of rain over the last week or so, but nothing like what is coming down from MN an WI.
River has been at or near record low for much of the summer, now is forecast to rise 11 feet in two days!!!
I don’t recall it ever rising more than 3 feet in a day, so this is really unbelievable.
Our prayers are with those in southern Mn. and much of WI who have been through this “rain event”.

I’ve seen the river shoot up several feet in one day in the past but nothing like what it is predicted to rise in the next 24 hours. I mean the L&D at DBQ was right around 5 foot the day befoe yesterday and by tomorrow it is supposed to be at 16.5 ft which is a half foot over flood stage. The forecast calls for it to drop almost as fast as it came up but then they aren’t taking into account the rains we are supposed to get the rest of this week. I see there is a heavy line of storms forming out in NW Iowa heading this direction. Not good for the walleye club’s Kid’s Day this coming Saturday. It would be my guess that with the river over flood stage on Tuesday/Wednesday that we won’t be fishing with the kids this coming Saturday.

This will be a good time for me to get all of my archery stuff in order and get dialed in with the bow in the backyard. I doubt if I’ll be fishing anytime soon.

John, it’s been so low here that it realy don’t look like much with the exception of one dock that I waited too long with yesterday. It was a bit underwater. That and a few trees/logs floating down stream.

Basicly everything happened about a hour south of Everts.

I think they call it “the river cleansing itself”. Unfortunatly, the river cleaned out a few roads, bridges and towns along the way.

Well, the forecasters where a bit overzealous. Level here has “only” risen 6′ in 3 days. Still a whole lot of very muddy water!
