I went out with fabulous guide Derek Johnston this summer at Mille Lacs and had a ball catching walleye. He told me that trolling during the full moons this fall is great too. Can anybody give me some tips?? types of cranks to try? general spots? Thanks a lot!!

First tip would be hiring Derek again
Second tip would be ordering James’s video, Night fishing trophy walleyes
Third tip: start searching all reports and threads in the Mille Lacs walleye forums, month to watch are Sept through Nov. Do not forget you can go back many years, You will be surprized how much info is in there.

Searching old reports is a great way to glean info. They give you depths, speeds, lures, etc.

    Yep, Ron said it all.
Now just pick up and camera, read all the great tips and presentations, and plan on getting up there in late Sep to early Nov.
also some members will make posts about An “Open Seat” available, look to for those and get a trip up with members who have been there.
    good luck.

Just hire Tuck. It is well worth it.

Slider hit the nail on the head. Doing those things will quickly cut the learning curve of Fall fishing and pretty much will solidify putting more fish in your boat. If Derek is booked, almost any guide here that fishes this bite is good bet. However, the IDA Guides are Phenomenal IMO.

Good luck and man I can not wait.
