ATHEIST IN THE WOODS

An atheist was walking through the woods.

“What majestic trees”!
“What powerful rivers”!
“What beautiful animals”!
He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing
In on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the Atheist cried out, “Oh my God!”

Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. “You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don’t exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.” “Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer”?

The atheist looked directly into the light, “It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps You could make the BEAR a Christian”?

“Very Well,” said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:

“Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.”

its not hypocracy if you actually change your whole train of thought and beliefs from that time on!.. thats called learning… lol.. I guess some people never learn…

now that right there is a ‘good one’!!!

Long ago heaven and earth lay next to each other separated only by an archway that was bound on each side by mirrors traveler’s passed between. The mirror on one side was truth and the other belief.

Time passed and angels moved between, the mirrors always looking the same. Then one-day man passed between and the two images differed. Man had never been to heaven and wanted to see what it was like and stopping and staring into the mirrors he couldn’t understand why the two people he saw looked so different, but he was sure that the one was a mistake.

He had heard how heaven was a divine place and had waited with great anticipation till he worked up the confidence to go through and see, but seeing the two differing people had unnerved him and he started to hesitate about going on. Just then a passing angle seeing the distress the man was in asked if he could help in anyway. Man explained that this was his first time and he had wanted to see if heaven was as glorious as he heard. The angel laughed and explained that it was all that and more. With this, mans confidence returned and he stepped through and into heaven. After passing back through the archway his face turned white as he cringed down. Seeing the man’s suffering the angel asked what was the matter. The man explained that he didn’t understand this, that it wasn’t what he thought it would be. The angle asked why. The man explained that he could see far beyond this time and place and that it had to be some kind of trick.

The angel laughed and told the man that this is heaven, Gods place. God is time in eternity and that was one of the wonders of heaven. There was no beginning or end of time, or end of beyond. Here you can look back past yesterday and forward beyond tomorrow. You can look over the nearest hill or beyond the distant stars.

The man turned pale and excited and he said as he moved back through the doorway.

This can’t be, this won’t do.
I am here and now. What you say can’t be true

Like the spoiled child he had seen in the one mirror when he arrived he fell on the ground screaming and kicking in a most severe tantrum. As he pounded the ground he saw that image in both mirrors and picking up a rock, propelled it violently breaking the mirrors into hundreds pieces upon the path.

Seeing a large shard land next to him he picked it up and looked into it. Getting up he held it high above to look at for he had found what he came for.

For I have a window to heaven don’t you see
And don’t you know, God looks just like me
