a couple of weeks ago, a good friend of mine’s Dad was killed in a horrible accident. his Dad was a fantastic person and was always a highly respected, fun person to be around when our baseball team traveled across the state for tournamaments. He cut trees for a living and it was an unfortunate event involving a fall from a cherry picker, that killed him on the job. Well my heart was already out to the family, but now I’m just purely venting my anger on here. Because today Jeremy, his son, found out durring football practice that thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen from their garage following his father’s death. Apparently someone out there didn’t have a heart. and I needed to vent this somewhere because it makes me extremely angry that someone out there could possibly do this to a family that is already down, hurt, and emotionally burnt.

I know everyone always talks about “what has this world come to” and all, but this hits close to home for me and I still am just completely shocked that a person could do such a thing. So thank you for allowing me to vent.

Cade, my heart & prayers go out to your friend’s family.

I’m a firm believer in Karma. Those dirty thieves will get what they have coming to them, in this life or the next.

    Hey Cade,

That is horrible! Hopefully the person was just a low life burglar and did not know the families circumstances.

However if it was someone that was taking advantage of the situation, they should be thrown in jail and never released into society again. PERIOD.

Like Blue said, Karma. Let’s hope if they are caught Karma comes in the form of a large guy named Bubba in jail.

My prayers go out to the family.

Thieves target addresses of families who are having funerals and weddings assuming no one is home during the scheduled times announced. Pretty low indeed.

    Cade,
My prayers to you and your friends family. And put some faith in our city and states finest, and here’s hoping they can recover the lost and hang the guilty, or what ever they do to guilty in these parts.
And take your buddy fishing as soon as possible!

My thoughts exactly. The thing that makes me want to hurl is that the guy must have known my friends dad well, because he took all of his work equipment in particular. It wasn’t just a blind robbery. They were after his gear. It wasn’t just a random circumstance at all

We had the same thing happen when my step-dad passed away a few years ago. Within a week of his death, someone went in the garage and stole a bunch of tools. The thieves must have known Mom was then alone.

Cade–I hope your friend and his family are doing as best as possible under the circumstances.

    Cade,

I have a cousin who works as a tree trimmer in the LaCrosse area. He’s pretty in tune to who else is in the same business. I’ll ask him to keep an eye out for any new suspicous faces. It’s amazing how much information gets out within these little circles.

I’ll definately let you know if I hear anything.

I agree, KArma will reak havoc on them in one shape or form at some point in time. It certainly sickens me to no end that this stuff happens, but in circumstances as this…..no excuse. Sick people.
Give your friends family our best Cade. Sorry to hear this.

    Sad deal indeed.

Have your buddy check with anybody his dad worked with. Many times the equipment is not always owned by the guy using it. Sometimes it’s borrowed stuff from someone in the buisness, sometimes it’s leased, or rented.

Often times guy’s don’t tell the wife and family about borrowed, leased, rented equipment. This may be the case here. I don’t know for sure but it might be the case. As was stated before the guy’s in the business will know if anything strange happens around the area.

    Good luck with this.

Thanks everyone. Brian, I guess i didn’t consider that, however Jon was the owner of his own tree service so I am 99% sure that it was all his own equipment. I have been in their garage and they had a LOT of chainsaws and what not in there. But that definitely comes to mind that it could be someone he worked with or another competing service perhaps? It sucks that this happened, but I can’t imagine someone going through all that trouble just to steal the tree cutting equipment, unless they were in the business themselves?
i just hope they catch the a hole(s)

    Marshall,
    thanks, let me know!

Heres to hoping that if they aren’t caught, they manage to have a tragic accident using said ill gotton equipment. As stated, Karma is a good thing.

Sorry to hear of your freinds loss Cade.
