This weekend is the annual Perseid Meteor showers.
The best night will be Sunday night to early Monday am. starting about 11pm Sunday night. the best viewing is to the NE’ern sky.
Here is a link for a little more info on this annual event.
The last couple of years has been too cloudy, and was not visible in this area.

I wish they could have scheduled it for when we didn’t have complete cloud coverage…

I saw quite a few last night from about 12am to 1:30am,
I had an altocumulus layer move in just before midnight, but it thankfully moved out pretty quick..

a lot of the particles the earth is flying through are very small, and they burn up very fast in our upper atmoshere. Sometimes they look like a flash bulb going off in outer space.
I was up at 5am this AM, and unfortunately the sun was already starting to lighten up the eastern sky, so it made viewing tough. the next few nights should also have some Meteor activity, but not as many.
    Jack.
