Tell you what… it sure is LOUD…. WOW! Haven’t heard so much lightening since I can’t remember. And we aren’t even in a warning area (north Anoka County).

    Be safe, everyone!!!

I can see it off in the distance heading towards Everts. LOTS of lightening. Let’s hope we get a good soaking out of this one.

It just made SouthWest WI, it is still loud. It could have waited a few more days to show up here

Bad storm damage in my home town, everyone is out cleaning up right now. My dads neighbors roof is on top of my dads house

We did get about 3 inches of rain which we needed badly, but the wind you certainly didn’t need!

That storm also woke me up on a day I finally get to sleep in But, we needed the rain pretty bad. Driving around this morning we seen a lot of broken branches and garbage cans, basketball hoops, leaves, and other stuff all over the roads.

Any one coming in late on this, I posted it late late Friday evening as I watched storms in western MN for anyone that might still be up or up very early this morning. Just so you know its not a forecast for tonight, Sat Aug 11.
I saw some thing happen to the radar at Chanhassen you don’t see that often. The rain was so hard over the radar site it attenuated their signal so every thing looked less than it was. I noticed it from how strong the Duluth and LaCrosse radars were showing over me when Chanhassen seemed to showing a decrease in strength. Because of their distance and earth curvature causing them to read the storm way up in the clouds, they should have been some what less instead of the other way around.
Oh well. Sure glad the NWS is here and we didn’t have to count on the TV stations for warnings.

She woke me up in Richfield around 4am or so. The wind was pounding and we got a good amount of rain. I was surprised this morning it didn’t look to bad. A few small cottonwood branches here and there.

Lots of lightning strikes. I had my scanner on and the fire departments were very busy.
