Does anyone use a sand point well for watering there lawns? Got my water bill and $300 for water is going to kill me in the summers. If so how deep and what are the cost am I looking at?
    Thanks,

You could let your yard go dormant and take the extra time that you save by not mowing and spend it fishing. Same goes for the $300 for water. I’d buy some toys with that instead.

That would be nice but, I am the kind of guy when it comes to having the greenest yard, I win.

I agree I have only mowed 3 times this year!

Just remember the grass in always greener on the other side…. so take it to the extreme!

Make sure it is legal in your town, as many places have wellhead protection areas to prevent possible contamination

Would $300 in green spraypaint cover your yard?

Funny, but in college I actually played football on a field in Texas that was spray-painted green. It looked nice and lush on film, but we got there and it was mostly dirt and some shreds of grass painted green

YOU ALSO NEED TO DETERMINE THE DEPTH OF THE WATER TABLE. I HAVE LIVED SEVERAL PLACES WHERE THE WELL WAS 100 FT.

I dont know a lot about sand points but I think they are figured as a shallow well. This means 25 feet or less. Going deeper than that it may be tough to do by hand. Talking to a local well company may be a good place to start. They most likely know the most about water levels in your area.

There are still a lot of people around that swear by witching stick for finding water also.

That’s what I do, I have mowed maybe 6 times this year and only once since Fathers Day weekend
My neighbers yard looks like a golf coarse though

How about getting an outside only meter? Then you won’t have to pay for sewer rates on watered lawns.
