I ruptured several discs in 1987 and had a laminectomy. Unfortunately with time and not following proper lifting technics I again injured my back in 1990. As a bullheaded and proud tough guy, I didnt want to recognize the seriousness of it until it was too late. I lost reflexes in right ankle and continue to have neuropathy on left calf as well as other issues. I underwent 7 hours of surgery in 1990 for a spinal fusion of L3, L4, L5, and S1. One year of extensive rehab later and I had about 1/2 of my strength back. Needless to say, prior to surgery I tried ever other available option including chiropractic and physical therapy!
My suggestion – dont mess around with this! Get several orthopedic opinions and follow to the T the suggestions. Corrective surgery is much better in the long run than loss of nerve feelings, loss of bladder control, loss of your use of manhood so to speak. DONT MESS AROUND!
