Lost the program to resize photos that was on my old harddrive ( remember to backup ). Can anybody recomend a free program that works well? I think the program I had started with the letter “I” and ended in “fanview” and I had seen it somewhere on this site.

Just got back from Canada and wanted to share a few photos, with the fish report.

If you are looking for something simple and you are just going to resize to post on the net try Photobucket.com.

You may also want to give Google’s Picasa a try. It covers the basic needs very well I think and it is free. They also have some nifty web album stuff available for windows users. (mac users too but us linux users are still 3rd rate citizens) lol

They also have a decent web API I’d like to make use of for here at some point along with Yahoo’s flickr as well.

I’ve used IRFanView, FastStone and some others…

If you run Windows XP the PowerToy plug-in Image Resizer is by far the easiest. Once you have this free plug-in from Microsoft installed simply right click on the photo, the pop-up menu includes a resize option.

Try this link… Image Resizer can be found among the list of power toys…

Plus with Image Resizer it saves the original and creates a copy of your desired size.
I posted the link for that one also.

LOL yep but it is getting better. Heck even Dell is offering desktops and laptops with Ubuntu linux installed these days. On the plus side I haven’t paid Norton a Windows protection fee in years.

One more vote for Irfanview. It’s been a staple on my machines for years. I use it to shrink photos for my ebay and website listings all the time.

I found a real easy way to resize pics is to use hotmail to web size them and just email them to yourself, and then save them, can do a whole load of them at one time and all it takes is 2 clicks.
