Morning everyone- I will be at a business conference at Arrowood Resort in Alexandria the 1st thru the 3rd. I am heading noth to dad’s cabin after the conference so I will have all my fishing gear along. Has anyone ever fished Lake Darling? I went on the DNR website and it looks like it might be a decent walleye lake. Might just be able to fish around the marina at the resort because of time, but any ideas would really be appreciated. Thanks, and good fishing.

Oh John…..Ya missed it by a hare! I’m going up to Minnewaska on the 4th! We’ll be spending all weel up there. Minnewaska is 20 miles south of Alex. Would have been great hearing the circus music again!

Darling is a real good lake; but I’ve never fished it. Sorry Don Hansen might know it pretty well. He fishes around that area a bit.

And Arrowwood is a cool place. I have stayed there and the kids loved the waterpark. If your young’un won’t be along you might have to borrow one and hit the waterpark!
    Have fun!

Chappy- I can always call your cell phone and play that circus music over the airwaves.

Joel- The whole family is going, I am sure I will have a hard time getting the kids out of the water park.

    Thanks Guys.

    John,
lake Darling has some deeper water, with a few humps that would hold some walleye, and a lot of shallow water with weeds for pike and bass. you can go under the bridge into lake carlos for multi-species, on the right side are large areas of reeds for bass and pike, and carlos has the deepest water in the chain for walleyes.
from Darling you can get anywhere in that chain of lakes, get a good lake map and go for a long boat ride.
    Enjoy
    Jack.

Don’t forget to fish the weeds for those walleyes, either. The biggest walleye I have caught in that chain of lakes have been in the weeds, including an 8 lb walleye 2 weeks ago in Darling. You will also find lots of bass, mostly in the 10-13″ range, and some very nice northern. Fish an area, and if you don’t find the fish you want in about 15 minutes, move on to another area. The water is low out there, so be extra careful in the shallows.

    Good Luck.
