I get pretty good rates on my 2002 Ranger 620 through Farmers, only about $100 more than you will be paying.
August 8, 2003 at 4:58 pm #272863Deductables and the actual coverage you have will make a diff. Here is my insurance with Am. Fam. $100.00 yr. $100.00 ded. Lia. 300,000 med. 1000 boat equip.per item 2000. agregate 4000 actual cash value. Now to be honest, I hate dealing with insurance! I’m not sure if this is good or just plain horrible insurance, but it’s what I have. JLK

I have recently in the past year switched from American family insurance over to http://www.greater-ins.com
After I had a couple claims that were more than difficult over at AmFam, I needed to switch to a company that focuses on fisherman and tournament anglers. I got alot of reccomendations for Greater Insurance Services by other anglers. Todd grams (CEO of Greater Insurance Services) is a former PWT pro that started this company with an emphasis on catering to fisherman specifically.
My premuims are a tad higher than I was paying at AMFAM, but the coverage I recieve is much better. Having been a victim of several theft and vandalisms, I feel much better that they will cover me and ALL my property items.Hope this helps.
August 8, 2003 at 5:02 pm #272865Oh! I have a 2000 lund angler ss 50 hp johnson. $400,000.00 in equipment!!! At least sometimes it looks that way.
August 8, 2003 at 5:21 pm #272866I have just looked into insurance and the best I can say is to compare. Know what you have so it’s apples to apples.
PS. I HATE insurance, always feel that they are out to rip you off. Pay premiums for 10 years at $500 yearly have 1 claim for $10 and they boot you for being to high a risk
This has not happend to me but to fam member.
OK, OK, I’m off my soap boxAugust 8, 2003 at 5:22 pm #272867’99 Smokercraft 161 Pro Mag with ’00 50 HP Merc. $500 deductible. I’m not sure what the personal property limits/coverages or liability limits/coverages are, but I only pay $112/year after all the discounts for home, boat, snowmobiles, and car/truck insurance. I have Allstate, have for 13 years since I started driving. No complaints, the few claims I’ve had have been handled great. I would recommend them, but I’m thinking to get that cheap, you might have to insure everything, like I do. My $.02.
GregAugust 8, 2003 at 8:11 pm #272807Do you cover your boat under the same insurance as your cars, home, etc.?
JiraPosts: 517August 8, 2003 at 8:46 pm #272873I’m a State Farmer too… just renewed and I’m paying $200/yr.
Aluma Trophy 175, 115 Johnson. It’s insured for $15k with another $2k in gear. I think that also includes $300k in liability per person and a $100 deductible. Like Greg, I insure everything through State Farm (house, vehicles, personal property, etc). I know that helps a little bit.
Hope that helps.
August 8, 2003 at 10:58 pm #272875Jolly yea i do have every thing with them $250 deduct..2000 on gear 18 yrs with state farm its just that they raised it 200 on me and if i can get a better rate i want it..one claim in all that time..really it just dont feel right.
August 9, 2003 at 2:22 am #272885I thought I would give you my two cents worth. I am a Insurance Agent, and my advice to you is to find somebody you trust to work with. Ask questions about your coverages so that you can make a good informed choice. Look past just the price, although that is important also. Ask your Agent to explain how your rig would be covered if you have a loss. Good Luck!
