    A difficult time has come in my family’s affairs.
    This past Saturday my Mother got very sick and was admitted in the hospital. Yesterday we found out she has pneumonia. She is 87 years old and her health has been failing for 2 years or so and the family has decided she needs to go into a nursing home. Dad is 92 and although he is still pretty healthy, the past 2 years of having to deal with my moms failing health has been very hard on him, both physically and mentally. It is going to be difficult to have to put mom into a nursing home, but she will hopefully get the necessary care and attention she needs there. It is not something we are doing on the spur of the moment, as we have been contemplating it for several months now. Please pray for an easy transition for her and peace for the family on our decision.

    we went through the same thing last year and yes it is hard on the family and also hard on them, but it also the best thing. they have personnel that can take care of them.

    My sister and I went through this with our Dad years ago. Tell her that its for her best interest and well being. That you love her and want her to have proper care. Its never easy doing this but you will get through it. You are in my prayers.

    Prayers are sent to you and your mom and dad. Know that you are doing what is in the best interest for your mom….and dad as well.

    Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Went to visit mom tonight in the hospital and she is doing better with the pneumonia. She is going to Prescott, Wisc. nursing home Wednesday as there is no room available at Hastings hospital nursing home. She seems upset but accepting of going to a nursing home. She is blaming dad for it even though it is the best thing for her.

    Hey Tom,
    Will certainly pray for you and your family. We’ve been going through the same thing the past 6 months with my mom(85). My dad’s been in a nursing home for 4 years. It’s not easy, but eventually everyone realizes that it’s what’s best for all. God’s blessings.
