I recently purchased a Lowrance unit that has sonar and GPS. Before I purchase a LakeMaster ProMap for Minnesota I want to know what other accessories I need. Do I need a MMC/SD card reader? Can I view a LakeMaster ProMap on my PC using the card reader?

Sorry for the stupid questions but I am new to all this technology.

    Thanks

No you can’t view your Lakemaster map on your pc.

Lakemaster does have pc mapping software called

Contour Pro. You can pre-fish on your pc at home

and mark waypoints on your mapping software. You

can then export those waypoints to an SD card and

import them to your Lowrance unit. To do this you

will need a card reader. You can also x-fer waypoints

from your Lowrance to your mapping software on your

    pc.

You may also need a card reader if there is ever an

update for the software on your Lowrance unit.

You would then download the update to your SD card using

your pc and card reader then load the chip into your Lowrance unit.

Thanks for the reply! Considering what you said, am I better off buying ContourPro instead of the Lakemaster map?

The lakemaster chip will have more accurate detail than
the downloaded base maps on your Lowrance unit.
If you just bought the software your transferred
waypoints maybe off the mark and you will be second guessing
why you even marked a spot in the first place.
I would buy the mapping chip first and the Pro Contour
    second.

    Good Luck,

    Dan
