Im looking to launch my 16′ crestliner Fish hawk out on the Rum River at the anoka county fairgrounds, anyone on here launch there lately with a boat? How deep is the river from this point going north? Should I be worried about hitting any rocks or anything?

    Thanks!

Welcome to IDA, glad to have you with us

If I can recall, you should be able to almost get to the first bridge when going north. It is shallow in some spots and it is also a NO-wake zone. As for launching: I am not sure as I have not been on the Rum this year yet.
If you go to this link and scoll to the bottom and change the dates to all, you should get some more answers:

Good Luck and let us know how you do

    tigerbalm,

You should be able to get your boat in there. I know the river levels are down right now, but that ramp at the fairgrounds is a nice deeper ramp. It is a gradual slope one you hit the water, but you should have enough water to get your boat off without a problem. As Slider mentioned, you should be able to make it up to the first bridge without much trouble at all. Also, there is plenty of water south of the access for your boat. It gets a bit deeper the further south you go.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
