Got home today found out she got stung right in the sniffer , it is swollen like a softball , she is a lab.

Took her to the vet, gave her some shots, she is not a happy camper right now

Same thing happened to my pooch last fall. Poor thing was in the same boat. If it’s anyhting like mine she’ll be slow for a day or two then back up to her same old tricks. (Damn Nose Stuck in everything!)

labs seem to want anything that flys. mine almost died. she is alergic to them. now i have a military bee sting injector ready for the next time.

My setter got into a nest of ground wasps last year. I feared her throat would swell shut, after treatment at the vet, they told me if it happens again to give her a Benadryl tablet. Now I always carry some afield and in the house, I’ve had to use them twice since for stings. Luckily it’s worked and reduced the swelling rather quickly. By the way she weighs close to 70#, best to call your vet for doseage on other weights.

My wife is a vet, and the usual dose is 1mg/lb. just make sure the benadryl dosn’t have any acetomeniphen or ibuprophen in it.
