Fishing/Outdoor Gear Stolen

Thought this might be worth sharing here…

A few days ago, two of my neighbors had a fair amount of fishing gear and other outdoor gear stolen from their garages. One of the neighbors thinks he may have left the door open on his detached garage while the other neighbor was pretty sure his garage door was closed…

My neighbor had a dozen rods, a precision air rifle, and a few knives taken while the other neighbor also had rods taken as well as a couple of tackle boxes full of gear. The robbers passed by other valuable items such as remote controlled cars, power tools, and outdoor electronics (cameras and such). Kind of odd that they were specifically targeting fishing gear…

This happend on the night of July 5th… earlier that day, a guy in a white van, MN plates, was driving around the neighborhood, asking people if they wanted to buy ‘meat’. We think he may have been ‘casing’ the neighborhood, looking for targets and the police are also investigating this connection.

Our neighborhood is somewhat rural (out off of County N, on the very eastern edge of Hudson Township), certainly not on the beaten path and certainly not an area where you’d expect things like this to happen. The thieves were pretty bold since the neighbor has motion-detector lights on his garage and his driveway is under construction. They must have parked on the road, walked up the driveway, tripped the lights, but still were calm enough to grab that many poles and other stuff and walk back out to their vehicle…

Just keep your eyes open and be sure to lock up at night!

Its always a shame to hear this happening to anyone, the thieves today are more gutsy than the pastand most the time just support a drug habbit
Sorry for thier lost, lets hope the police come up with something to help them

Wow that makes you think. I will sometimes leave my garage door open while I run to the store a few blocks away. I do not think I will be doing that any more. I hope the find the guy
