I didn’t doubt you. That is really good mileage. I would hold onto it as long as you can because others I know aren’t getting better than 18 mpg with their Fords and Rams. I don’t know anyone personally that is driving a newer duramax though.
I have 55,000 on this one now and what I stated is truth. 12 an/change mpg in town playing jockie is my worst with this truck.
It’s funny this post popped back up. Since my original post, I purchased a 2005 Duramax then switched back to a 5.3 in 2011. I like my 5.3 but really miss my Duramax. I was looking last fall at possibly switching back to a diesel but with the price of fuel and the sticker shock I decided it wasn’t in the cards. New vehicle prices are just plain crazy in my opinion. Gas or diesel!
