Following the awards presentation at the In-DepthAngling ’07 Summer Get ToGether on Saturday, June 23rd, held at Everts Resort, James Holst, TV show host and President of In-DepthAngling presented two outstanding In-DepthAngling Staff Members with achievement awards.

First was the Staff Member of the Year Award.

The five member In-DepthAngling Steering Committee reviewed the report posting consistency, and general all around support of the Staff Team. Then voted to narrow the numerous contenders down to one individual from the many outstanding candidates.

The Staff Member of the Year award was presented to…….

    Steve DeZurik!

For Steve’s achievements, he was awarded a plaque and a gift certificate from BfishN Tackle.

The next award was for The Rookie of the Year.

The Steering Committee looked at new Staff Members, their report posting consistency and the increased activity in their area. With the number of new staff and their support of IDA, this was the most difficult category to narrow down to one person.

The Rookie of the Year was presented to…..

    Ben Garver!

Ben was awarded a plaque and a St Croix Legend Tournament rod with a Shimano Sedona reel.

Ben has been leading the charge in the rapidly growing NE forums and posting consistent reports.

    Congrats Steve and Ben!

Congrats, a very well deserved award in both cases.

BK, I think you would win the smelliest Staff Award.

Congratulations Ben and Steve! Nice to meet you Ben. I can personally attest to the kind of job Ben is doing. He has on several occasions with his reports made me want to road trip down to Nebraska. Which is pretty good considering I’ve got pools 2, 3, 4, and Mille lacs all within 2 hours of my door.

    Thanks for the support fellas!
Its quite an honor for me knowing the level of competition that is here at IDA. We are pretty lucky to have such a great group of guys. All of the staff and you members are what makes this site the best that there is IMO. I have the pleasure of experiencing alot of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on here at IDA and I have got to say that I have never met a more dedicated group of friends that I have here. As times go and we grow each and every day, we have to deal with all the issues that come with getting bigger. I tip my hat to all those who make this site what it is today!

    Thank You!

I posted this in the other thread that cited these awards but I’ll say it again. After spending time in the boat with Steve in the past and Ben this past weekend at the GTG there aren’t two more deserving guys. Congrats to the both of you and I look forward to more days on the water with you.
