Lately I have been getting what looks like a temp light on the console of my ranger come on and then an extremely annoying buzzing sound sets off! I thought maybe it was the impellor, but maybe not. Any ideas or comments?

    Thanks!

Well you are definetly overheating. Do you have a good pee stream coming out the back?

That annoying sound is typically your sensor that is letting you know that your low on oil or your motor is getting too warm! Most of the time is low on oil!

Is the buzzing a constant buzz or intermintant buzz? On most of those Mercurys, Low Oil-Intermintant and High Heat-Constant Buzz if I remember correctly.

How old is the Opti??? If more than 3 years old, have you changed your impellor lately?????

The first time I ran my boat this year after it had sat for 4 months, I was getting that alarm. The guy at Jet-a-Marine in KY told me that the oil may have settled a bit in the small resevior and that it was getting a false “Low Oil” alarm. After I ran my boat for a half hour, it never happened again. I hope this helps.

I took it in and they set all the alarms but found nothing!~
Imagine that, they drove it and didnt get it to sound off for them….
Anyway, fished lower pool 4 today and did real well…
    Had a 26,22,20 and a pair of 19″ ers and no alarm…
thanks to all for your comments.

I have an 06 225 opti and get the alarm when going through no wake zones. I was told it is my thermostate sticking.
