    Hey all,

My AC fan is still working, but I’m getting no cold air. Might just need a Freon refill, but I’m not sure and not little-to-nothing about it.

Anybody know somebody that works at reasonable rates and can move quickly to get to my house in Minneapolis/Robbinsdale?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this last week has been a real bear with all the 90 degree heat!

    Thanks!!!

Some repair outfits will tell you that all you need to do is recharge your A/C. Simply put, not true. IF your air conditioning is low on freeon, it leaked out somewhere. If you recharge it, it will eventually leak out again, weather its one minute, or one year. If it happened suddenly, a recharge wont help. Although if its been progressively getting warmer, you may be able to by yourself some time with a recharge.

I know 2 people that do this type of work for a living and may be able to help you out this weekend.

PM me if interested. Otherwise I wish you the best on getting cool air cheap!

Ummm … wow. Not sure what happened to the message somebody put on here about checking the breaker, but I feel awfully stupid right now!

Sure as heck, the breaker had flipped. It’s running like a dream again.

I posted that, but then removed the post when you said your AC unit was running. When it happend to me, I had the stat set to cool and assumed the unit was running when the furnace kicked in. However, the fuse was tripped and the AC unit never turned on . . . glad that’s all it was.

I owe you a beer and I’m glad I saw it before you removed it!

Saved me $80 for a visit … and who knows what they would’ve told me from there.

I just assumed since the fan itself was running that it was an AC issue, never really pieced it all together that it could simply be off. The simplest answer is sometimes the best one!

If your breaker trips again, have the compressor checked. More than likely it may be time for a new one.. How old is the outside unit?
